      Irvin (5-6) took the loss Tuesday as the Nationals fell 5-0 to the Diamondbacks, giving up four runs on eight hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out two.

      Advice: A lack of offensive support gave the right-hander no margin for error, but Irvin did himself no favors by tossing first-pitch strikes to only 11 of the 22 batters he faced and issuing a season high in free passes. In fact, the 27-year-old hadn't walked more than two batters in any 2024 start prior to Tuesday.       Advice: Hamilton was held out of the starting lineup after exiting Monday's game with discomfort in his side. He eventually entered as a pinch runner in the eighth inning and scored the game-winning run after stealing his 19th bag of the season (fifth in MLB). Ten of those 19 steals have come in the last 11 games.       Advice: Yelich opened the scoring with a first-inning homer, his first long ball since May 29. Power has been the only missing element for the veteran outfielder in June -- he's batting .322 (19-for-59) this month, but with just two extra-base hits and five RBI over 16 contests. For the year, Yelich is slashing .324/.400/.506 with seven homers, 32 RBI, 25 runs scored and 14 stolen bases over 200 plate appearances in what's shaping up to be his best campaign since 2019.       Advice: The homer was Doyle's first since May 15, and it was also his first extra-base hit since June 3. While he hasn't hit for much power, the outfielder has been sharp at the plate and adds speed on the bases.       Falter (3-5) took the loss Tuesday against Cincinnati, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out three.

      Advice: Santiago Espinal's two-run homer in the fifth inning accounted for the only runs against Falter on Tuesday, though it proved to be enough to stick the left-hander with the loss in a 2-1 pitcher's duel. Still, it was a nice bounce-back effort from Falter, who lasted just four innings in each of his previous two starts, allowing eight runs in that span. His ERA now sits at 3.74 on the year with a 1.12 WHIP and 52:21 K:BB across 79.1 innings. Falter's currently in line for a rematch with the Reds early next week in his next outing.
