    • Diagnosed with bruised ankle
Pfaadt left Saturday's game against the Padres due to a left ankle contusion.

Advice: Pfaadt was hit in the ankle by a 98 mph comebacker in the fifth inning of his start and was immediately removed. The Diamondbacks have labeled the injury a bruised left ankle but expect Pfaadt to continue to be evaluated in the coming days. His next start is projected to come Thursday against Atlanta. • Brandon Pfaadt exits after being hit by comebacker
Brandon Pfaadt was pulled from Saturday’s start against the Padres in the fifth inning after taking a 98-mph comebacker off the bat of Luis Arraez off of his left foot/ankle.

Advice: He’ll presumably head for X-rays to see if there’s any structural damage. Prior to exiting, Pfaadt had allowed just one run on seven hits while punching out six opposing batters over his 4 1/3 innings of work. He also had a 2-1 advantage and lost his shot at a victory with his early removal. The Diamondbacks should have an update on his status before the night is through. Rotoworld Today, 8:20 pm
    • Hit by comebacker, leaves game
Pfaadt was removed from Saturday's game against the Padres after being struck in the foot by a comebacker in the fifth inning, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Luis Arraez hit a 98 mph comebacker at Pfaadt that ended up hitting the 25-year-old pitcher in the left foot/ankle area. Pfaadt allowed one run on seven hits and no walks with six strikeouts over 4.1 innings prior to exiting. The Diamondbacks will likely send Pfaadt in for imaging and we should know more about his health postgame. Rotowire.com Today, 8:15 pm
    • Swipes two bags in win
Neto went 1-for-5 with an RBI and two steals in a 7-0 win over the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: Neto hit an RBI single and swiped two bases in a productive third inning. He has stolen four bases over his past 10 contests but has gone just 7-for-37 at the plate over that span. On the year, the shortstop is hitting .243 with 11 home runs, 39 RBI, 33 runs scored and 14 steals over 319 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 7:05 pm

    • Ties major-league record in win
Miranda went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Astros. Miranda hit an RBI single in the second inning and then tied a major-league record in the fourth by recording a hit in his 12th consecutive at-bat.

Advice: It's safe to say Miranda has been on fire, registering his third consecutive multi-hit effort and extending his overall hit streak to 10 games. He has enjoyed a major bounceback campaign in 2024, slashing .328/.370/.531 with nine home runs, 43 RBI and 35 runs scored over 262 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:31 pm

    • Wood has first home run, knocks in five in win
James Wood went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and five RBI against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Wood hit his first double and home run in the major leagues in this game. He clubbed a three-run home run off Lance Lynn in the bottom of the second inning to make it 7-0 Nationals. In the third inning, he knocked in two more runs with a double. In 23 at-bats, he’s hitting .304 with an .885 OPS for Washington. Rotoworld Today, 4:45 pm
    • Cruz blasts 13th home run in loss to Mets Saturday
Oneil Cruz went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run against the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: Cruz’ home run was his 13th of the season. He hit a two-run shot off David Peterson in the second inning. • Kyle Schwarber (groin) will return on Tuesday
Kyle Schwarber (groin) ran the bases at 100 percent on Saturday without issue and will be activated from the injured list on Tuesday.

Advice: Tuesday had been the target all along for the 31-year-old slugger to return and running at full speed on Saturday was the final hurdle that he needed to clear to meet that goal. With Schwarber back on Tuesday and Bryce Harper (hamstring) expected to follow shortly, the Phillies’ offense is getting an awful lot of left-handed power back next week. Rotoworld Today, 3:02 pm

    • Stops swinging bat
Manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Muncy (oblique) has been shut down from swinging a bat, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Roberts added that Muncy hasn't progressed through his rehab as fast as the team had hoped, and the chances of the third baseman beginning a rehab assignment near the All-Star break have been reduced significantly. A right oblique strain has kept him on the injured list since May 17, though his latest setback once again leaves him without a clear return timeline. Rotowire.com Today, 2:36 pm
