• Sixto Sánchez starting Wednesday against Braves
Sixto Sánchez will start on Wednesday against the Braves.

Advice: Sánchez will take the ball at the outset of a bullpen game for the struggling Marlins, who have been shut out in back-to-back games of this series. It’ll be his first start since the postseason of the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. Rotoworld 4 minutes ago

  • CES has three hits in win over Phillies
Christian Encarnacion-Strand went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in a win over the Phillies.

Advice: It was a much-needed big game for CES, who raised his triple slash to .216/.220/.352 on the season. His hardest hit ball of the day was a 100 mph lineout, but he also had a single and a double that were each over 93.5 mph. It’s not lighting up a radar gun, but it’s nice to see him making consistent hard contact. The impressive depth that the Reds had at the start of the season is now gone due to injury, so he should have a long enough leash to work through his early season struggles. Rotoworld 5 minutes ago
  • Abbott can’t get through five innings vs PHI
Andrew Abbott allowed one run on two hits in 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Phillies.

Advice: Abbott was staked with an early four-run lead, but his command failed him, allowing four walks and being pulled from the game after throwing 79 pitches. The positive was that Abbott didn’t allow much hard contact, but he had just a 24 percent CSW and a zone percentage under 50 percent. He struggled to command his four-seamer and changeup and his 2.90 ERA on the season feels entirely flukey. He has just 20 strikeouts in 27 2/3 innings and none of the ERA estimators believe he should have an ERA under 4.40. He is not a recommended start on Sunday against the Rangers. • Michael Harris doubles, drives in run vs. Marlins
Michael Harris went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI in the Braves’ win over the Marlins.

Advice: Harris doubled in the second inning to score Marcell Ozuna from second, giving the Braves an early lead. That run would have proven to be more than enough in the shutout win, but a home run by Adam Duvall in the sixth added some insurance going into the later innings. Harris has now hit safely in six of his last seven games and continues to be one of the hottest bats in Atlanta’s lineup. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

  • Luis Arraez tallies two hits in loss to Braves
Luis Arraez went 2-for-4 in the Marlins’ loss to the Braves.

Advice: There’s not much to say here, as Arraez’s two hits made up all but one of the Marlins’ hits in the shutout loss. Arraez has now hit safely in three straight games and has eight hits over his last five. He’s hitting just .284 on the year, but his 29 hits are still good for top 10 in the league. • Cristopher Sánchez has off day in loss to Reds
Cristopher Sánchez allowed five runs (one earned) on four hits in three innings in a loss to the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: It was just one of those days for Sánchez, who didn’t have his best command and was let down by his defense, who recorded three errors behind him. The lefty’s velocity was actually up one mph on Tuesday, but he had trouble commanding his changeup and recorded three walks to go with his four strikeouts. It’s likely just a minor bump in the road for Sánchez, who still has a 2.96 ERA on the season, and should be started with confidence next week against the Angels. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago
  • Willson Contreras leaves game early on Tuesday
Willson Contreras left Tuesday’s game against the Diamondbacks with an apparent injury.

Advice: Contreras was 1-for-2 with a solo homer and a walk before appearing to suffer some sort of left side or left hand injury while grounding out in the fifth inning. It’s worth noting that the Cardinals were trailing by nine runs at the time, so it’s possible they just didn’t want to take any chances with him behind the plate for the remainder of the night. There should be an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago
  • Bednar locks down 4th save of the season
David Bednar fired a scoreless ninth inning to secure the Pirates’ 2-1 win over the Brewers on Tuesday.

Advice: It was a perfect inning for Bednar, who didn’t allow a single baserunner and struck out one hitter. The right-handed was sitting 96.6 mph with his fastball and now has three scoreless performances in a row. The start of the season was rough, but Bednar has been one of the more reliable closers in baseball and should remain so this season. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

  • Adam Duvall homers, drives in two vs. Marlins
Adam Duvall went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in the Braves’ win over the Marlins.

Advice: Duvall sent a 406-foot blast into the left field stands to score Marcell Ozuna and give the Braves a 5-0 lead. It was only Duvall’s second homer of the season, as the outfielder remains in a platoon with Jared Kelenic and has made little work of his few opportunities. Despite the strong night, Duvall can’t be counted on for fantasy production in his current role. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago
