    • Tanner Bibee strikes out career-high 12 in win
Tanner Bibee struck out 12 batters in six shutout innings on Wednesday in an 8-0 win over the Mariners. He scattered three hits and walked just one.

Advice: This was Bibee’s second straight start where he struck out double digit batters - the first two times of his career. His slider and curveball were both lethal while his fastball velocity stayed above 95 MPH and induced five swings and misses. His fastball has been hit hard this season with opposing hitters slugging .581 against it and its -14 Run Value is the lowest for any pitch single pitch in the league. Seeing it this effective is a great sign for Bibee as he looks to stay hot. Rotoworld 50 minutes ago

    • Josh Naylor smacks two home runs against Mariners
Josh Naylor went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI on Wednesday.

Advice: Naylor took over this game offensively with a run-scoring single in the first, thunderous home run to break it open in the fifth, and then a solo-shot in the seventh for good measure. He’d been batting under .200 since the start of May after a strong April and knowing how streaky of a hitter Naylor can be, this might be the start of his next hot streak. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago

    • Goes deep in win
Happ went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Giants.

Advice: Happ has been on a heater recently, as he now has five straight two-hit performances. The outfielder has gone deep three times during the hot streak, giving him nine home runs for the season. Happ won't be able to stay this locked in forever, though fantasy managers should enjoy the production while it lasts. Rotowire.com Today, 5:24 pm

    • Ian Happ tallies two hits, homers in victory
Ian Happ went 2-for-4 with a solo homer on Wednesday in the Cubs’ victory over the Giants.

Advice: Happ went back-to-back with teammate Dansby Swanson off Giants reliever Spencer Bivens in the fourth inning. The 29-year-old left fielder has gone deep three times in his last five contests since June 15 and is up to nine round-trippers on the season. Rotoworld Today, 3:36 pm

    • Brandon Pfaadt logs quality start in loss to Nats
Brandon Pfaadt logged a quality start in Wednesday afternoon’s loss to the Nationals, giving up three runs on five hits across his 6 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander astonishingly did not record a strikeout in the contest while issuing four free passes. Still, he managed to keep the Nats off the board completely until Jesse Winker’s go-ahead two-run shot in the sixth inning. He then exited with two men on and one out in the seventh inning, and one of those runners ultimately came around to score as well. Pfaadt didn’t get a single swing and miss on any of his 77 pitches in the contest, registering an underwhelming CSW of only 23 percent. He’ll carry a 4.37 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and an 84/22 K/BB ratio (90 2/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Twins. Rotoworld Today, 3:27 pm
    • Aiming for Saturday return
Arenado (elbow) said after Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Marlins that he expects to return to the lineup Saturday versus the Giants in St. Louis, Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Arenado was lifted for a pinch runner in the top of the eighth inning after he took a 94 mile-per-hour sinker to his right elbow in his fourth plate appearance of the afternoon. Before departing, Arenado went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored. Though Arenado has been diagnosed with a bruised right elbow after initial X-rays returned negative, he noted that the pitch hit him in a nerve in the elbow that caused his hand to cramp up. Based on his postgame comments, Arenado already seems to be ruling himself out for Thursday's series opener with the Giants at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Ala., but he's counting on being ready to go coming out of Friday's off day. • Kyle Bradish undergoes Tommy John surgery
The Orioles announced on Wednesday that Kyle Bradish underwent successful Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery with an internal brace procedure on Wednesday in Dallas.

Advice: The 27-year-old right-hander will obviously miss the remainder of the 2024 season and will miss at least the first half of the 2025 campaign as well while recovering from the surgery. Fantasy managers in season-long leagues can safely cut bait now. He finishes the 2024 season with a 2.75 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 53/15 K/BB ratio over 39 1/3 innings in his eight starts. • Undergoes Tommy John surgery
Orioles general manager Mike Elias announced that Bradish (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery with an internal brace Wednesday, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: Bradish was first diagnosed with a partial UCL tear in his elbow in mid-February, and while his initial rehab was successful -- he posted a 2.75 ERA and 53:15 K:BB over 39.1 innings covering eight starts -- he suffered a setback coming out of his most recent outing last Friday. After having his elbow re-examined, Bradish made the decision to have the surgery. Elias said Wednesday that he expects Bradish to miss 12-to-18 months, leaving the right-hander's availability for the entire 2025 season in doubt. Rotowire.com Today, 2:06 pm

    • Nolan Arenado (elbow) hopes to return on Saturday
Nolan Arenado (elbow) is hopeful that he’ll be able to return to action on Saturday.

Advice: That means that he won’t play on Thursday for sure, while Saturday is still up in the air depending on how the next couple of days go. Arenado was clipped by a pitch on Wednesday that hit a nerve in his elbow, which caused his hand to cramp up. When he’s able to return will depend on when he regains full feeling in that hand.
