    • Out 4-to-6 weeks
Diamondbacks farm director Shaun Larkin said Monday that Lawlar is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports. Triple-A Reno placed him on its 7-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Lawlar suffered the injury while legging out a triple for Reno in Saturday's game against Sacramento. While a Grade 1 strain is the least severe, it's still going to cost the top prospect at least a month of action. Lawlar has played just 11 games this season, having previously missed time following surgery to repair ligament damage in his right thumb. Rotowire.com Jun 17, 2:25 pm

    • Back from injured list
The Phillies activated Turner (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday. He'll start at shortstop and bat second in his return to the lineup for Monday's series opener versus the Padres.

Advice: Turner rejoins the first-place Phillies following a six-week absence with a strained left hamstring. He didn't go out on a rehab assignment prior to being activated, so it's possible Turner will get some extra off days mixed in as he returns to action. Edmundo Sosa performed well as Turner's main replacement at shortstop and will most likely return to a bench role, though the Phillies have discussed the possibility of getting Sosa some reps in the outfield. • Trea Turner officially back from the IL
Phillies activated SS Trea Turner from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The move was reported on Sunday and is now official. Turner didn’t make any rehab appearances but should be slotted back into lineups to make use of his full week of production. He may not steal as many bases right away in the aftermath of the hamstring injury, but hopefully that speed production will tick back up in the weeks ahead. Johan Rojas was sent to the minors in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Jun 17, 11:58 am

    • Hurts hamstring Saturday
Lawlar exited Triple-A Reno's 7-6 win over Sacramento in the ninth inning Saturday with a hamstring injury and will undergo an MRI on Monday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: After undergoing surgery in spring training to address a torn ligament in his right thumb, Lawlar began an extended rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League in late May before he was finally cleared to make his 2024 debut for Reno on Tuesday. The 21-year-old shortstop had made a strong early case for a call-up to the Diamondbacks by going 8-for-20 with four extra-base hits through his first four games with Reno, but the hamstring injury now puts Lawlar at risk of another stint on the Triple-A injured list. The Diamondbacks should have a clearer idea regarding the extent of Lawlar's injury once the results of his MRI are read Monday. Rotowire.com Jun 16, 6:39 pm

    • Jordan Lawlar undergoing MRI on hamstring
Jordan Lawlar is undergoing an MRI on his hamstring after leaving Saturday’s game with Triple-A Reno.

Advice: Lawlar had just made his way back to Triple-A Reno after missing the start of the season due to surgery on his thumb. The 21-year-old is one of the top prospects in baseball, and if healthy, he has a chance to be a contributor this summer. Unfortunately there’s now questions as to whether that can happen, and he joins a long list of prospects who have dealt with injury at the Triple-A level. Rotoworld Jun 16, 11:43 am

    • Jose Caballero scratched due to calf tightness
Jose Caballero was scratched from Sunday’s lineup against Atlanta with calf tightness.

Advice: Caballero was out of the lineup for the last two days with illness, but the shortstop will miss a third straight game due to the calf injury. He is reportedly available off the bench, so consider him day-to-day. Amed Rosario gets the start at shortstop in his absence, as Taylor Walls is unavailable due to illness. Rotoworld Jun 16, 9:39 am

    • Scratched with tight calf
Caballero was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta with left calf tightness, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Amed Rosario was a late addition to the lineup as a replacement for Caballero and will hit ninth and start at shortstop. Caballero has served as the Rays' primary shortstop for most of the season, but he had moved into more of a utility infield role of late following Taylor Walls' return from the injured list June 7. • Monday return confirmed
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Turner (hamstring) will be reinstated from the 10-day injured list Monday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Turner has been on the shelf since May 4 with a left hamstring strain, but he'll rejoin the big club without requiring a minor-league rehab assignment beforehand after the Phillies came away from his recent workouts convinced enough that he's at or near full health. Once he's formally activated from the IL ahead of Monday's game against the Padres, Turner should settle back in as the Phillies' everyday shortstop, pushing Edmundo Sosa back into a utility role. Sosa performed well during Turner's extended absence, and Thomson recently floated the possibility of Sosa seeing some looks in the outfield once Turner is back in the fold. • Trea Turner (hamstring) to be activated Monday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters before Sunday’s game that Trea Turner (hamstring) will be activated off the injured list before Monday’s game against the Padres.

Advice: There was some talk that Turner could be back Sunday, but Philadelphia will get the 30-year-old one more day before he’s back in action. The star shortstop’s return is a big boost for both fantasy managers and the Phillies. The only question will be how much the speedy infielder will run after missing so much time with his hamstring injury. Rotoworld Jun 16, 8:36 am
