    • Bryce Miller allows three home runs in loss
      Bryce Miller allowed five earned runs on five hits, including three homers, across six innings in a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday. He struck out four and walked none.

      Advice: Aaron Judge and Juan Soto jumped all over Miller in this one accounting for all of his earned runs with three combined homers. Miller was visibly frustrated as the pitches they hit out weren’t even bad: Soto took two sinkers on the edge to left field and Judge golfed a low and away slider into the short porch.     • Michael King posts quality start in win over Reds
      Michael King logged a quality start in Wednesday’s victory over the Reds, allowing three runs on three hits over his 6 2/3 frames.

      Advice: King struck out six batters on the night while issuing a pair of walks. The inconsistent right-hander has made a habit of winning in tough spots this year, and against the Reds in Cincinnati would certainly qualify. He served up a solo homer to Jeimer Candelario in the opening inning, then gave up a two-out, two-run double to Tyler Stephenson in the six. King generated 12 swings and misses on 92 pitches on the night — eight of those on his changeup — while posting a CSW of 30 percent.       Garcia (forearm) will serve as the Rangers' designated hitter and cleanup batter in Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

      Advice: The Rangers held Garcia out of the lineup for the past two games while he contended with right forearm discomfort, but he's made enough improvement to enter the starting nine Wednesday, albeit in a non-defensive role.       Advice: After missing a pair of games due to a forearm issue, the 31-year-old slugger is right back in there for the Rangers on Wednesday evening.       Murphy (oblique) played seven innings at catcher and went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run Tuesday in his first rehab game for Triple-A Gwinnett.

      Advice: In his first game since suffering a Grade 1 left oblique strain in his season debut with Atlanta on March 29, Murphy had been scheduled to catch just four innings, but he ended up staying behind the dish longer than expected. The 29-year-old backstop didn't exhibit any rust with the bat or in the field Tuesday, as he threw out the only baserunner that attempt to steal off of him and provided the highlight of the night with a 449-foot blast off the batter's eye in center field in his first at-bat. According to David O'Brien of The Athletic, Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said that Murphy will be off Wednesday before starting behind the plate again for Gwinnett on Thursday. Snitker added that Murphy is also expected to get another start for Gwinnett as a designated hitter, so Atlanta is seemingly planning on having Murphy remain on assignment through at least Friday before bringing him back from the 10-day injured list.       Advice: The 30-year-old slugger took Patrick Corbin deep in the second and fifth innings, his first long balls in four games since coming off the IL and his first multi-homer performance of 2024. Buxton had managed only one home run in 28 games prior to knee trouble that shut him down in early May, but Tuesday's fireworks are a strong sign he's fully healthy.       Advice: Alvarez went back-to-back with Kyle Tucker in the first inning for his first home run since May 9. After slumping a bit earlier this month, his bat has heated back up.       Advice: The first baseman clubbed his fifth homer of the campaign, taking Dennis Santana yard in the seventh frame.       Advice: Torres’ three-run homer in the seventh gave the Yankees their first runs of the evening after they spent the first six innings being stifled by Bryan Woo. Torres’ homer, his third on the season, ended shutout but didn’t prove to be enough for the Yankees, who were held scoreless the rest of the way.
