      Wells (elbow) plans to resume throwing this week in Sarasota, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

      Advice: This would be the first time Wells would play catch since May 1, which was right before he was sent for additional testing. The right-hander was placed on the injured list April 13 due to right elbow inflammation. His last outing was April 12 when he allowed four runs through four innings against Milwaukee.       Wheeler (6-3) earned the win Thursday over the Rangers, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: After Adolis Garcia led off the second inning with a home run, Wheeler held the Rangers off the board until Ezequiel Duran's two-out RBI single in the seventh. It's the sixth win in Wheeler's last seven starts -- he's pitched at least seven innings in back-to-back outings and three of his last four. His ERA sits at 2.53 on the season with a 0.98 WHIP and 76:21 K:BB in 67.2 innings. Wheeler's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Giants in his next start.       Holmes earned the save in Thursday's 5-0 win over Seattle, allowing two hits while striking out a pair in 1.1 innings.

      Advice: Holmes came on in relief in the eighth after Nick Burdi loaded the bases. He'd induce a grounder off the bat of Luke Raley for the final out before working around a pair of singles in the ninth to earn his 14th save. It's a nice bounce-back effort from Holmes, after he allowed four runs in a blown save against Seattle on Monday, the first four runs he's allowed this season.       Robert Suarez fired a scoreless 10th to pick up a save against the Reds on Thursday.

      Advice: That’s already the 14th save of the season for Suarez; putting him at right around a 40-save pace at this stage of the season. The right-hander hasn’t just helped in that category, as the scoreless 10th puts his ERA at a sparkling 0.40 for the 2024 campaign.       Adolis Garcia hit a solo homer in a loss to the Phillies on Thursday.

      Advice: Garcia took Zack Wheeler deep in the second inning. The 31-year-old slugger has gone deep a dozen times thus far in 2024 while driving in 36 runs over Texas’s first 51 games.       Zack Wheeler held the Rangers to two runs over seven innings while picking up a win Thursday.

      Advice: Wheeler scattered five hits with two walks, and he struck out five. The blemishes on the scoreboard came on an Adolis Garcia homer in the second and an infield single by Ezekiel Duran in the seventh. Outside of that, it was another strong outing for the 33-year-old that sees him lower his ERA to 2.53 as he worked at least seven innings for the third time in four starts.       King (4-4) picked up the win Wednesday, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks over 6.2 innings in a 7-3 victory over the Reds. He struck out six.

      Advice: The right-hander delivered his fifth quality start of the year, and his third in four May outings, on 92 pitches (62 strikes). King has had trouble maintaining consistency as he adjusts to being a full-time starting pitcher, but his 3.24 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 27:7 K:BB through 25 innings this month is encouraging.
