    • Undergoes internal brace procedure
Wells (elbow) underwent a UCL revision and internal brace augmentation surgery Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Wells avoided the second Tommy John surgery of his career, after he previously had the procedure in May 2019. However, while the internal brace procedure typically entails a shorter recovery timeline than Tommy John surgery, Wells will still miss the remainder of the 2024 campaign, and likely a few months of the 2025 season. • Tyler Wells undergoes season-ending elbow surgery
Tyler Wells had successful right elbow revision ulnar collateral ligament surgery with UCL repair and internal brace augmentation on Monday.

Advice: The internal brace gives him a better chance of returning next summer, but a 2026 return still might be the most likely scenario here. The Orioles figure to pay the $2 million or so necessary to keep him around next year in the hopes that it will pay off down the road. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:57 pm

    • First three-hit game of season
Jones went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Sunday against the Pirates.

Advice: Jones started in his second straight game since returning from the injured list and has hit fifth and sixth in the order. He delivered his first three-hit effort and only sixth multi-knock performance of the campaign in 29 starts. That provides some hope that he's now fully healthy and prepared to improve upon his .196 average and .587 OPS. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:56 am
    • Cleared to play in games
Votto (ankle) was transferred to the Blue Jays' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate Monday to begin a rehab assignment, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Votto is finally ready to play in games following a long recovery from a severe right ankle sprain which he suffered back in mid-March. He remains on Triple-A Buffalo's 7-day injured list and will rejoin the Blue Jays' top affiliate once Toronto determines he's ready to do so. The 40-year-old could eventually become an option for the big club at first base and/or designated hitter, but he's on a minor-league contract and isn't guaranteed anything. • Joey Votto (ankle) starting rehab assignment
Joey Votto (ankle) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League.

Advice: Votto is back in minor league game action for the first time since suffering a right ankle injury back in spring training. The 40-year-old first baseman is hoping to make his Toronto debut at some point this year, but is a non-factor for fantasy purposes at this advanced stage of his career. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:54 am

    • Extends hit streak to nine games
Wong went 2-for-4 with a walk, a triple and three RBI in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Wong delivered a two-run triple in the seventh inning then singled in a run an inning later. The catcher upped his hit streak to nine games, during which he's 12-for-31 (.387) with six walks, six RBI, one steal and four runs scored. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:15 am

    • Chased early Sunday
Estes allowed six runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out two over 2.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Twins in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader.

Advice: Both Estes and Twins starter Chris Paddack were hit hard in the early innings, and neither completed three frames. This was Estes' shortest outing of the season, and it's the first time in four starts he's given up more than three runs. The right-hander is now at a 5.97 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB through 34.2 innings over seven starts. His next outing is projected to come at home in a rematch versus the Twins. • Blanks Royals
Glasnow (7-5) picked up the win Sunday against Kansas City, allowing three hits and one walk with nine strikeouts across seven scoreless innings.

Advice: Glasnow was exceptional Sunday, striking out at least nine batters for a third straight start and completing his first scoreless start since April 21. He didn't allow an extra-base hit in the outing and got into the win column for the first time in seven starts. Glasnow leads MLB with 125 strikeouts across 93 innings, and his ERA dropped from 3.24 to 3.00 after Sunday's start. The 30-year-old is tentatively scheduled to face the Angels his next time out. • Impresses in doubleheader
Lewis went 3-for-7 with two home runs, three RBI, three walks and three runs scored as the Twins swept Sunday's doubleheader versus the Athletics.

Advice: Lewis has done nothing but mash since returning from a quadriceps injury he suffered Opening Day. This was the second time since his injury that he's homered in consecutive contests, and he's up to seven long balls in just 11 games this season. He's added 11 RBI, 12 runs scored, two doubles and no stolen bases while batting .390 with a 1.398 OPS over 47 plate appearances. He's seen steady time between third base and designated hitter, though his lengthy injury may give the risk-averse fantasy manager caution despite Lewis' clear upside. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:41 pm
