      Scott struck out three over two perfect innings Tuesday to record his eighth save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Mets.

      Advice: The lefty fired 22 of 31 pitches for strikes in perhaps his most impressive performance of the season. Scott hasn't allowed a run since the beginning of May and seems to have solved the control issues that plagued him early in the year -- over his 13-appearance scoreless streak he has a 0.73 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB through 15 innings, recording four wins, four saves and a hold.     • Ronel Blanco holds Giants to one run in victory
      Ronel Blanco limited the Giants to one run and three hits over six innings in the Astros’ 3-1 victory Tuesday.

      Advice: Blanco matched his high total with eight strikeouts in bouncing back from consecutive poor showings against the Twins and Cardinals. The only damage against him came on a Brett Wisely homer in the third. The win moved Blanco to 6-2 with a 2.67 ERA. He’ll get the White Sox next. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:26 pm

    • Tanner Scott gets two-inning save
      Tanner Scott pitched two scoreless innings, striking out three to secure his eighth save in a 4-2 win over the Mets on Tuesday.

      Advice: Scott was brought in to face the heart of the Mets order in the eighth inning and then stayed in to close out the game after the Marlins gave him an extra run of cushion in the top of the ninth. The left-hander has now walked six batters and struck out eighteen in 15 innings since the start of May. That hasn’t led to many saves with Miami not producing many wins, but Scott has seemed to put his early season control issues behind him. For now. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:58 pm
       
    • Héctor Neris implodes in loss to Rays on Tuesday
      Héctor Neris blew a save on Tuesday, allowing four runs on three hits in a loss to the Rays.

      Advice: Neris had seemed to be turning the corner early in the month, but tonight was rough. He started the inning with a lead-off double and then after a strikeout, he issued a walk and a run-scoring single. He was able to strike out Yandy Diaz to get himself one out away from sending the game to extra innings but instead served up a three-run home run to Brandon Lowe to lose the game. He has a 4.01 ERA on the season and is not a sure thing to remain the Cubs’ closer through the summer. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:24 pm
       
    • Takes first loss in rough outing
      Neris (6-1) allowed four runs on three hits while retiring just two batters to take the loss Tuesday against the Rays. He walked one and struck out two.

      Advice: Neris was tasked with protecting a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the ninth, but he allowed a double and a single to blow his third save of the year. He still had a chance to push the contest into extra innings until he served up a three-run home run to Brandon Lowe with two outs, which gave Tampa Bay the 5-2 win. It marked the first loss of the season for the veteran reliever, who saw his ERA climb from 2.63 to 4.01 in the process. This was also only the second long ball served up by Neris this year across 24.2 innings. While this effort hurts his overall stat line, Neris should have a little leeway as Chicago's closer given his solid play to this point. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 6:46 pm
       
    • Report: Yankees might eye lefty relievers
      According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, it “would be ideal” for the Yankees to pursue a “wipeout lefty” before the trade deadline.

      Advice: Rosenthal specifically mentions Marlins’ Tanner Scott or Andrew Nardi and acknowledges that “The acquisition cost for a pre-arbitration reliever such as Nardi...would be considerably higher.” He also mentions that the Yankees would be open to high-strikeout-rate right-handed relievers as well, but a lefty is an ideal fit. This, of course, highlights one of the threats to Tanner Scott’s fantasy value as he would almost certainly lose his closer role if he were traded to the Yankees. You’re unlikely to get much for Scott in a trade in fantasy leagues, but his time as a closer appears to be running out with the trade deadline looming. Rotoworld Monday, 9:17 am

      Neris picked up his ninth save of the season Sunday against the Reds, striking out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning. He did not allow a baserunner.

      Advice: Neris was sharp, striking out the first two batters he faced before inducing a groundout to secure a 4-2 victory for the Cubs. The 34-year-old veteran has enjoyed a nice start to the month of June, notching saves in three of his four appearances and a win in the other.       Héctor Neris threw a perfect ninth with a two-run lead for a save Sunday against the Reds.

      Advice: Neris has been effective throughout, but it’s come with an ugly K/BB ratio. Fortunately, he’s starting to turn that around some now, having struck out six and walked two in four innings this month.       Scott (5-4) struck out two batters over 1.2 perfect frames and earned a win over the Guardians on Friday.

      Advice: Scott entered a tie game in the eighth inning and forced a double play to escape the first-and-third jam he inherited. He then struck out two in the ninth inning before Miami walked it off in the bottom of the frame. After some early season struggles, Scott has now gone 18 straight innings without allowing an earned run. His season ERA has fallen to 1.40 with a 27:19 K:BB through 25.2 innings.
