    • Another sim game on schedule
Kelly (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a simulated game Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Kelly, who tossed a two-inning sim game Thursday, is slowly ramping up for a potential return the first half of August. It's been a long slog for the right-hander, who landed on the injured list in April. A rehab assignment is certain; the only question being the number of starts will Kelly need. • Brice Turang goes hitless in loss to Marlins
Brice Turang went 0-for-4 as the Brewers’ No. 2 hitter in Friday’s loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Turang is in a 8-for-59 slump that’s threatening to drop his OPS under .700; he’s at .702 right now, down from .770 on July 3. Playing time doesn’t figure to become an issue here, but if the slump lingers, the Brewers might drop him in the order. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:56 pm

    • Homers in blowout win
Ramos went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and a triple in Friday's 11-4 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Ramos had gone 10 games without a homer before providing the Giants' last runs with an eighth-inning blast Friday. Despite this being just his 68th game of the season, Ramos now leads the team with 15 long balls, one ahead of third baseman Matt Chapman. Ramos has added an excellent .296/.356/.519 slash line, 52 RBI, 30 runs scored, two stolen bases, 13 doubles and one triple over 298 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:23 pm

    • Two homers in win
Fitzgerald went 3-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI and three runs scored in Friday's 11-4 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Fitzgerald continues to put together a stunning surge in the second half. Dating back to July 9, he has at least one extra-base hit (seven homers, two doubles, one triple) in eight straight games. He's up to a .330/.400/.660 slash line with eight long balls, 18 RBI, 24 runs scored and seven stolen bases through 42 contests this year. Fitzgerald's playing time also looks to be more secure moving forward after Thairo Estrada (wrist) landed on the injured list Friday. Look for Fitzgerald to handle a starting role at shortstop while Brett Wisely and Casey Schmitt share second base for the time being. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:13 pm

    • Heliot Ramos blasts 15th homer in win over Rockies
Heliot Ramos swatted a three-run homer and tripled Friday as the Giants topped the Rockies.

Advice: Ramos hit one of the four homers for the Giants on Friday with a three-run shot off former Giant Ty Blach in the eighth inning to extend San Francisco’s lead to 11-3. The outfielder also picked up his first triple of the season in what has been a breakout season for the 24-year-old. He’s up to 15 homers on the season to go with an outstanding slash of .296/.356/.619 along with 52 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:53 pm

    • Tyler Fitzgerald homers twice in rout of Rockies
Tyler Fitzgerald homered twice and drove in four runs in an 11-4 win for the Giants over the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: The good run keeps going. Fitzgerald hit a two-run shot off Kyle Freeland in the fourth, and another two-run blast in the eighth off Tyler Kinley. The 26-year-old has gone deep eight times for San Francisco, but it’s worth pointing out that seven of those have come in his last eight games. This can’t keep up because of course it can’t, but ride the hot wave if you can with Fitzgerald. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:53 pm

    • Bryson Stott tallies three hits, home run
Bryson Stott went 3-for-4 with a solo home run on Friday against the Guardians.

Advice: Stott has been mired in a prolonged slump with a .540 over his last 20 games entering play Friday. The homer was just his second since May 19th as he hopes to finally break out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:36 pm

    • Merrill Kelly throws simulated game on Thursday
Merrill Kelly (shoulder) completed two innings in a simulated game without any issues on Thursday.

Advice: The right-hander will throw another bullpen session on Sunday before progressing to a three-inning simulated game next week. If all goes well with both of those sessions, the 35-year-old hurler could then be cleared to start a minor league rehab assignment. It seems likely that Kelly will require at least two starts there before he’s an option to return to the Diamondbacks’ rotation. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:16 pm

    • Throws sim game
Kelly (shoulder) threw two innings in a simulated game Thursday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Kelly faced hitters for the first time since being placed on the injured list in late April with a strained right shoulder. The 35-year-old is slated to throw again Sunday and looks to be nearing a rehab assignment. Kelly has only made four starts this season, and will likely require multiple rehab starts before being cleared. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:47 pm
