      Evan Phillips earned his first victory of the 2024 season on Tuesday despite allowing a solo homer in the ninth inning against the Diamondbacks,

      Advice: Phillips came on to work with the score tied at four runs apiece heading to the ninth inning. He struck out Ketel Marte to start the frame but then served up a go-ahead solo homer to Joc Pederson before retiring the next to hitters. He was then the beneficiary of a vultured win after the Dodgers rallied for two runs in the home half of the ninth. On the season, the 29-year-old closer now boasts a 2.10 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and a 27/8 K/BB ratio over 25 2/3 innings on the year to go along with 13 saves in 13 chances.       Phillips (1-0) allowed a run on one hit and struck out one over one inning but earned the win Tuesday over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Phillips gave up a tie-breaking solo home run to Joc Pederson in the top of the ninth inning, but the Dodgers replied with two runs of their own in the bottom of the frame. The homer was just the second Phillips has allowed all year, though this was the second outing in a row he's been scored on.       Zach Littell picked up his third victory of the season on Tuesday evening, scattering four hits over five shutout innings against the Royals.

      Advice: Littell punched out four batters on the night and didn’t walk a batter. He needed just 68 pitches (49 strikes) to get through five frames — and he would’ve likely worked deeper into the game had it not been for a lengthy rain delay after the fifth inning. The 28-year-old righty got eight whiffs on the night, registering a strong CSW of 34 percent. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he brings a 3.94 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and an 86/16 K/BB ratio (91 1/3 innings) into Sunday’s matchup against the Rangers in Arlington.       Advice: Soriano missed the minimum time on the injured list due to an abdominal infection. He cruised through the Athletics' order the first time, but he had less fortune the second time around, as Brent Rooker hit a solo shot and Lawrence Butler added a three-run home run. Soriano threw just 62 pitches (39 strikes) in the outing, so he may still be building up to full strength. For the year, he's at a 3.77 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 64:29 K:BB through 76.1 innings this year.       Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander walked one while striking out four batters on the evening. He cruised through the first three innings unscathed, allowing just one baserunner as he plunked Max Schuemann with two outs in the third. Things fell apart in the fourth though as Brent Rooker crushed a solo homer and Lawrence Butler added a three-run blast. Soriano got six whiffs on 62 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 31 percent.       Chad Green tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday against the Astos to record his third save of the season.

      Advice: Green surrendered a leadoff double before striking out Joey Loperfido and Trey Cabbage before getting Jose Altuve to fly out to end the game. It was just his third save of the season, but the veteran has been tremendous with a 1.37 ERA.       Jhoan Duran pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn the save on Tuesday against the Tigers.

      Advice: Duran now has 13 saves on the season, as he lowered his WHIP in the year to 0.98 thanks to a solid frame against the Tigers, in which he struck out one batter.       Jeff Hoffman pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his seventh save in Tuesday’s win over the Cubs.

      Advice: The Phillies entered the ninth inning with a comfortable 6-1 lead but saw that lead slip to 6-4 after reliever José Ruiz failed to record an out while allowing a three-run homer to Seiya Suzuki.       Hayden Wesneski allowed five hits and five earned runs over five innings while striking out seven in Tuesday’s loss to the Phillies.

      Advice: Things couldn’t have gone much worse for Wesneski, who allowed a season-high five runs on Tuesday against the Phillies. Shortstop Trea Turner was responsible for the majority of that damage, as he took Wesneski deep twice while driving in three runs.
