    • Returning to action Tuesday
Estrada (thumb) is starting at second base and batting second Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Estrada sat out the previous three games with a jammed thumb but is ready to take the field Tuesday in Arizona. The 28-year-old finished May on a modest four-game hit streak and went 7-for-17 with a double, an RBI and a run during that span. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago

    • Thairo Estrada back in lineup Tuesday vs. D-backs
Thairo Estrada (thumb) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Estrada is at second base and batting second for Tuesday’s showdown at Chase Field following a three-game absence due to left thumb soreness after jamming it last Friday on a slide into second base. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

    • Throws bullpen session
Diaz (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Diaz threw 21 pitches during his mound session, and manager Carlos Mendoza said afterward that there is a good chance the 30-year-old reliever begins a rehab assignment in the minors Thursday. It's unclear how many minor-league reps the Mets will give their star closer, but the fact Diaz is already able to begin an assignment likely signals that he will only require a minimum-length stint on the IL. • Edwin Díaz to start rehab assignment this week
Edwin Díaz (shoulder) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Thursday.

Advice: Díaz threw a bullpen session on Tuesday without any issues and the Mets are hoping to have one of their primary closing options back on June 11, when first eligible to return. The electrifying 30-year-old righty hit the injured list back in late May with a right shoulder impingement. He’s struggled this season, but remains arguably the best option for New York manager Carlos Mendoza moving forward over Adam Ottavino, Jake Diekman and Reed Garrett. Rotoworld Today, 2:23 pm

    • Playing time trending down
Mullins is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Mullins has now been out of the lineup for three of the last four games, and all of them have been against right-handed pitching. He's hitless across his previous five contests, dragging his season line down to .181/.225/.319. Colton Cowser will again be in center field, while Austin Hays handles left. • Continuing rehab at Triple-A
Dominguez's (elbow) rehab assignment was extended an additional 10 days and will continue at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the Yankees announced Tuesday.

Advice: Dominguez will make another step in his recovery from Tommy John surgery he underwent last September, bumping his rehab assignment up to the Triple-A level. He's already appeared in 14 minor-league games split across Double-A Somerset and Single-A Tampa, and Dominguez will likely require a handful more at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before being activated. Even when cleared, Dominguez will have a tough time cracking New York's active roster considering its abundance of outfield talent. Rotowire.com Today, 11:30 am

    • Dominguez (elbow) moves rehab to Triple-A
The Yankees extended Jasson Dominguez’s rehab assignment by 10 days and transferred it to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: Dominguez registered a .992 OPS with Double-A Somerset with four homers over 14 games. The 21-year-old outfielder is working his way back from Tommy John surgery, and now will be a step away from the majors. The questions now are when Dominguez will reach the highest level, and what exactly New York plans to do to get him in the lineup. The latter question will likely be answered by either an injury or Dominguez continuing to tear the cover off the baseball. Rotoworld Today, 11:27 am

    • Sharp in win
Rodriguez (6-2) picked up the win Monday against Toronto, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and zero walks while striking out four over 6.2 innings.

Advice: The only earned run allowed by Rodriguez was a solo home run by Vladimir Guerrero in the fourth inning. The 24-year-old set a new season-best with 6.2 innings pitched Monday, turning in his fifth quality start of the season. Rodriguez has found his groove over his past five starts -- in that span, the right-hander owns a 2.16 ERA and 31:12 K:BB in 29.1 innings. Rodriguez will look to keep rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for this weekend in Tampa. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:43 pm
    • Notches first win
Megill (1-2) picked up the win Monday against Washington, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks. He struck out four in five innings of work.

Advice: Megill made his third start since returning from a shoulder injury on May 20, notching his first win. The right-hander gave up his first home run of the season, a two-run shot by Joey Gallo in the fourth inning. Despite earning the win, the 28-year-old yielded four earned runs and recorded just four strikeouts, both season-worsts. Megill has now compiled a 3.00 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP and a 24:9 K:BB across 21 innings. He will look to improve in his next start, tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday versus Miami.
