    • Taking over Eflin's rotation spot
Springs (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Sunday and then will make a start with the Rays either Tuesday or Wednesday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Springs has made eight rehab outings, most recently building up to five innings in a start July 25. Assuming things go well with his bullpen session Sunday, he'll be set for his first big-league appearance since April of 2023. The Rays may monitor Springs' innings due to his lengthy layoff, but he'll claim Zach Eflin's vacancy in the rotation. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago

    • Records hit in return
Diaz went 1-for-5 Friday against the Reds.

Advice: Diaz missed seven games while on the restricted list with an undisclosed personal issue. He returned to his customary leadoff position and now has at least one hit in nine of his 12 starts in July to go along with six RBI and four runs scored. Rotowire.com 46 minutes ago

    • Jasson Domínguez returns to action at Triple-A
Yankees OF prospect Jasson Domínguez went 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Friday for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: Domínguez is officially healthy after missing a couple weeks due to an oblique strain and figures to be an option for the Yankees in the near future after getting a couple games under his belt in the upper minors. At a bare minimum, the 21-year-old top prospect will inject some much-needed life into New York’s floundering lineup. Rotoworld Today, 4:56 am
    • Jackson Holliday tallies two hits Friday at AAA
Orioles 2B/SS prospect Jackson Holliday went 2-for-4 with a run scored on Friday for Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Holliday hasn’t exactly set the International League ablaze this season, but he’s re-established himself as arguably the top fantasy prospect in the game, thanks to his recent performance and gradual improvements. The 20-year-old phenom, who is nearly seven years younger, on average, than his competition at the moment, is batting .274 (71-for-259) with 10 homers and eight steals through 71 contests. • Knocks three hits
Yepez went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI in Friday's extra-innings win over St. Louis.

Advice: Yepez scored runs in the second and fourth innings before knocking an RBI double in the fifth. He also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to tie the game in the seventh and force the game to extras. Yepez had a 15-game hitting streak to begin his Nationals career before going 0-for-3 on Thursday. After his three-hit night Friday, he's now slashing .375/.423/.609 with 11 extra-base hits through 71 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 4:46 am

    • Julio Rodríguez (ankle) to be re-evaluated next week
Mariners general manager Justin Hollander told reporters Wednesday that Julio Rodríguez (ankle) will be re-evaluated next week.

Advice: Rodríguez will be shut down completely from baseball activities until next week before Seattle’s medical staff determines his next steps. The 23-year-old franchise cornerstone landed on the injured list earlier this week with a high ankle sprain and remains without an official return timetable. There should be some much-needed clarity on his status at some point next week. Rotoworld Today, 4:26 am

    • Juan Yepez goes 3-for-4, knocks in two runs
Juan Yepez went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI as the Nationals topped the Cardinals 10-8 on Friday.

Advice: The new Joey Meneses appears better than the old one, as Yepez has hit .375/.423/.609 in 71 plate appearances since being called up on July 5. He shouldn’t keep up this pace, but he’s definitely an option in deeper mixed leagues while playing regularly for the Nationals. Rotoworld Today, 12:26 am

    • Converts 16th save
Sewald allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 4-3 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Sewald allowed two runs in a non-save situation Wednesday versus the Royals, but he bounced back Friday to protect a one-run lead. This was his sixth scoreless outing in July, but his other four appearances this month each saw him yield multiple runs. The closer is up to 16-for-19 in save chances with a 3.55 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 25:4 K:BB through 25.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:27 pm

    • Turns in quality start
Gallen (8-5) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings to earn the win Friday over the Pirates.

Advice: Gallen's shaky control continues to be a red flag -- he has a 19:14 K:BB over 24 innings across five starts this month. On the bright side, he earned his second quality start in six outings since he returned from a hamstring injury. The right-hander is now at a 3.70 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 86:30 K:BB through 87.2 innings over 17 starts this year. Gallen's next start is projected to be at home versus the Nationals.
