    • Perfect in sixth hold
Garrett struck out the side in a perfect seventh inning Sunday to record his sixth hold of the season in a loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: With the Mets holding a 4-3 lead, the right-hander was called in to the face the heart of Arizona's order and fanned Lourdes Gurriel, Christian Walker and Jake McCarthy on 11 pitches (nine strikes). Garrett has had some stumbles of late, getting tagged for earned runs in four of his last nine appearances with a 9.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP over that stretch, but he's still part of the high-leverage mix and a candidate for saves in the absence of Edwin Diaz (shoulder). • Wins with quality start
Lodolo (5-2) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings Sunday, striking out three and earning a win over the Cubs.

Advice: Lodolo kept the Cubs off the board through four innings before they tallied a run in the fifth and sixth innings. He's allowed three runs over 11.1 innings while winning his last two starts since returning from the injured list. However, he's totaled just six punchouts during that span. On the year, Lodolo owns a 3.11 ERA with a 49:10 K:BB through 46.1 frames. His next start is projected to be a rematch with the Cubs at home. Rotowire.com Today, 6:02 am

    • Zach Eflin (back) likely to return this week
Zach Eflin (back) threw a 40-pitch bullpen session on Sunday without any issues and afterwards declared himself “ready to go”.

Advice: The 30-year-old right-hander is expected to rejoin the Rays’ rotation this week, perhaps on Wednesday against the Marlins in Miami. Prior to landing on the injured list with inflammation in his lower back, Eflin had registered a 4.12 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a 44/4 K/BB ratio over 59 innings of work. Rotoworld Today, 5:36 am

    • Checks boxes in bullpen session
Eflin (back) threw a 40-pitch bullpen session Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Sunday's session was Eflin's second bullpen in the last four days. He threw two simulated innings and came away feeling good. The Rays haven't confirmed a date for Eflin's return from the 15-day injured list, but he could be activated as soon as Wednesday to start in the Rays' series finale in Miami. • Homers twice, doubles
Marte went 3-for-3 with two home runs, a double and a walk Sunday against the Mets, finishing with three RBI and two runs scored.

Advice: Marte got the scoring going in the top of the first with a leadoff homer against Jose Quintana. He saved his best for last though, launching a decisive two-run shot in the ninth to propel Arizona to a 5-4 victory. The multi-HR performance was Marte's first of the season and the seventh of his career. The 30-year-old is off to a strong start, slashing .270/.330/.502 with 12 home runs, 32 RBI and 39 runs scored in 58 games played. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:13 pm

    • Blake Snell (groin) expected to land on 15-day IL
Giants’ manager Bob Melvin told reporters after Sunday’s loss to the Yankees that Blake Snell is expected to land on the 15-day injured list after re-injuring his groin.

Advice: Melvin noted that Snell will undergo an MRI exam on Monday to determine the extent of the damage, but it sounds like he’s going to be shelved for a while. Snell dealt with a similar injury near the end of April and wound up missing a month’s worth of action. The 31-year-old left-hander has been an unmitigated disaster for the Giants and for fantasy managers, going 0-3 with a 9.51 ERA and 1.94 WHIP over 23 2/3 innings in six starts on the season. • Picks up sixth save
Fairbanks allowed one hit during one scoreless inning to pick up the save Sunday against the Orioles.

Advice: Fairbanks worked around a two-out single to pick up his sixth save. It was his third save since May 11, when he made his return from a stint on the IL. Over the three weeks since his return, he's appeared in 10 games and has yet to allow an earned run while allowing nine baserunners and striking out nine over 10 innings. • Limited to light throwing
Senga (shoulder/triceps) took part in light-to-moderate throwing on the field Saturday, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports.

Advice: Mets manager Carlos Mendoza characterized Senga's throwing as being mechanical in nature, but the activity nonetheless represents a step in the right direction after the Mets shut down the right-hander in late May, when he received a cortisone injection to address inflammation in his triceps. Senga initially opened the season on the injured list with a right posterior shoulder capsule strain before he experienced tightness in his triceps in May. Even though he's resumed his throwing program, Senga is without a clear timeline for a return. Given the multiple checkpoints he'll need to hit in his rehab prior to being activated from the 60-day IL, Senga looks unlikely to be activated until at least July. • Likely headed to IL
Snell (groin) is set for an MRI and likely another stint on the injured list according to manager Bob Melvin, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Snell suffered a groin injury in Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Yankees, and he could be sidelined for multiple weeks. The team will likely make a decision on the left-hander's status moving forward Monday. If he is ultimately placed on the IL, it's possible that Keaton Winn (forearm) would be rerouted from his rehab assignment to join the Giants in Arizona prior to their three-game series with the Diamondbacks.
