Anderson had his best velocity of the season today, averaging 90.4 mph with his fastball.       Advice: The game was suspended due to inclement weather Tuesday and resumed Wednesday, which likely means he'll be unavailable for Wednesday's regularly scheduled contest. Nolan Gorman hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to give the Cardinals a lead, and Helsley was able to close it out for his 15th save of the season. He's now tallied at least one hit in 11 of his last 12 games, which includes 13 hits and a .371 average over his last eight games. He's regularly been hitting first or second since coming back from the injured list last week and is now slashing ,316/.366/.474 with three homers, 15 RBI, 16 runs and an 8:18 BB:K in 124 plate appearances.       Justin Lawrence took a blown save in the seventh after giving up a two-run homer to Oakland’s Seth Brown on Tuesday.

      Advice: Jalen Beeks’ hold on the closer’s role in Colorado got a little stronger tonight. Lawrence, who has been dealing with an inflated ERA since giving up four earned runs in his second outing of the season, had been pitching well in amassing a 1.08 ERA this month.       Luis Rengifo had a two-run homer and an RBI single versus the Astros on Tuesday.

      Advice: Rengifo definitely wasn’t Ron Washington’s favorite player at the beginning of the year, but he’s been one of the best Angels thus far, having hit .316/.366/.474 in 124 plate appearances. Statcast thinks he’s way overachieving, given that his exit velocity numbers are significantly worse than his career marks, but things will probably even out there somewhat; his .840 OPS won’t quite hold up, but his exit velocity numbers should get better.
