    • Hitting IL with neck strain
Brown will be placed on the injured list with a left neck strain, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Brown has been dealing with the strain over the last few weeks and will head back to Chicago to undergo more testing. The severity of the injury is unclear but we should learn more in the coming days. Jordan Wicks is the primary candidate to take Brown's spot in the rotation, while Colten Brewer (back) should join the bullpen after being reinstated from the 15-day IL. Rotowire.com Today, 2:10 pm

    • Cubs place Ben Brown on 15-day IL with neck strain
Cubs placed RHP Ben Brown on the 15-day injured list with a neck strain.

Advice: Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network adds Brown has been battling the neck issue for the last few weeks and has been sent back to Chicago to undergo additional testing to determine the severity of the issue. There should be some clarity on his status at some point later this week. The 24-year-old righty has been a bright spot this season for the Cubs with a stellar 3.58 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 64/19 K/BB ratio across 55 1/3 innings (15 appearances, eight starts) so far. • Erick Fedde excels for seven before pen implodes
Erick Fedde surrendered one run in seven-plus innings Monday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

Advice: It would have been seven scoreless innings for Fedde had he been pulled then, but Pedro Grifol thought he was the best choice to start the eighth. Grifol then quickly changed his mind after a leadoff homer. Fedde was pulled from a 4-1 game at that point, only to sit and watch as the White Sox bullpen blew the game. With a 3.10 ERA through 14 starts, Fedde is counting the days until he’s traded to a major league team. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:44 pm
    • Let down by bullpen after QS
Fedde allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out four batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Seattle on Monday.

Advice: Fedde was brilliant through seven scoreless frames before Dominic Canzone tagged him for a solo homer leading off the eighth. That spelled the end of Fedde's outing, but he departed in line for the victory with a 4-1 lead. However, Michael Kopech entered and gave up three runs, wiping out the advantage and forcing Fedde to settle for a no-decision. Despite the late letdown, this was nice bounce-back for the right-hander after he gave up seven earned runs across 10 innings over his previous two starts. He's in the midst of a career-best campaign with a 3.10 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 77:23 K:BB through 81.1 frames. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:03 pm
    • Homers and steals in win
Adames went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and a stolen base in a 3-1 win against the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: Adames singled and stole second base in the second inning, gave the Brewers a 2-1 lead on a solo homer in the fourth and added some insurance on a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Adames opened June in a 4-for-28 slump through eight games, but he now has double-digit home runs and stolen bases following Monday's outburst. On the season, Adames is slashing .248/.328/.433 with 10 home runs, 45 RBI and 10 steals while primarily hitting cleanup. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:13 pm
    • Completes seven innings in win
Rea (5-2) earned the win against the Blue Jays on Monday, allowing one run on three hits and no walks with four strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Rea allowed a solo home run to Alejandro Kirk in the third inning then needed just 85 pitches to complete seven frames for the first time this season. After throwing four scoreless innings in bulk relief last week, this marked the most innings Rea has pitched in a major league game since 2016. While Rea has alternated starts with bulk relief appearances in his past four outings, he has gone 2-0 and yielded just four runs over 22 innings during that stretch. On the season, he owns a 3.31 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 48:23 K:BB in 11 starts and two relief outings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:10 pm
    • Adames blasts 10th home run Monday
Willy Adames went 2-for-4 with a home run, a stolen base and a sacrifice fly against the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: Adames’ home run was his 10th of the season and the stolen base was his ninth. He’s hitting .248 with a .761 OPS this year, but he continues to drive in runs in the middle of the Milwaukee order. Adames now has 45 RBI to go with the homers and steals. Fantasy managers have to be pleased with that production so far. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:36 pm
    • Rea picks up fifth win against Blue Jays Monday
Colin Rea allowed one run in seven innings and got the win in the Brewers’ 3-1 victory over the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: Rea gave up three hits, walked none and struck out four. The win was his fifth of the season. Rea lowered his ERA to 3.31, but his xFIP is much higher at 4.54. He doesn’t miss bats as his strikeout percentage of 16 percent this season suggests. Rea has benefited greatly from an 81 percent left on base percentage. When that regresses, so too will his ERA. The 33-year-old right-hander is set to face the Reds at home this weekend.

    • Andrés Muñoz’s status to be evaluated daily
Andrés Muñoz is still dealing with his sore back, according to manager Scott Servais, and could be day-to-day for the foreseeable future.

Advice: We’re guessing that means Muñoz won’t go tonight after throwing 15 pitches in a scoreless inning Sunday. Ryne Stanek could be the favorite to close tonight. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:27 pm
