• Adley Rutschman finishes 5-for-5 against Astros
Adley Rutschman went 5-for-5 and scored two runs in a loss to the Astros on Friday.

Advice: It’s Rutschman’s second career five-hit game; the other came on Opening Day last year, when he led the Orioles to a 10-9 win over the Red Sox. He also had three hits on Thursday, so he’s raised his average from .288 to .305 the last two days. Rotoworld Today, 12:08 am
  • Adds another steal
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: The Guardians did all their damage in the second inning, with Ramirez contributing an RBI single to the seven-run rally. The third baseman has gone 5-for-16 with three steals, three RBI and four runs scored over four games since he returned from the paternity list. Ramirez is at a .271/.331/.521 slash line with 14 steals on 16 attempts, 18 home runs, 65 RBI and 55 runs scored through 70 contests as the engine of the Guardians' offense. • Hits second homer
Arraez went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 9-5 win over the Brewers.

Advice: Arraez entered Friday with just four hits over his last six games, an unusual lack of production for the contact-heavy infielder. He made an impact with his lone knock Friday, sparking the Padres' comeback push with a fifth-inning blast. Over 76 games between the Padres and the Marlins this year, he's slashing .314/.349/.385 with two homers, 21 RBI, 43 runs scored, 15 doubles, a triple and three stolen bases. He's the only player in the majors with over 100 hits so far in 2024, but much of that has been his usual empty average, as he offers little in the way of power or speed and won't generate many RBI as a leadoff hitter. • Luis Arraez golfs out homer in win over Brewers
Luis Arraez hit a two-run homer against the Brewers on Friday in a win for the Padres.

Advice: Arraez is not known for his power, but the 27-year-old was able to golf out a pitch down and in for his second homer of the season. The second baseman has hit .324 since being traded to San Diego with 16 RBI and three stolen bases in five attempts over 185 at-bats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:00 pm

  • Josh Naylor with two hits and two RBI
Josh Naylor went 2-for-4 with a double, single, and two RBI on Friday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Naylor, known for hitting the ball hard, started the Guardians seven-run second inning with an 11 pitch at-bat that wound up as a cheap double and ended the rally with a dribbler that plated two runs. But hey, that’s baseball. Naylor seems to be heating up with hits in nine of his last 11 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:49 pm

  • Crushed for 10 runs in second loss
Imanaga (7-2) took the loss to the Mets on Friday, allowing 10 runs on 11 eleven hits and one walk with three strikeouts over three innings.

Advice: Imanaga was hit hard early and often, surrendering six runs on three home runs in the first two innings and another run in the third. He was unable to record an out in the fourth frame and was charged with three more runs, resulting in the worst outing of his major-league career. In total, Imanaga allowed 11 hard-hit balls, as the velocity on each of his pitches was at least one mph below his season averages. Imanaga's ERA rose from 1.89 to 2.96 with a 1.10 WHIP and 81:12 K:BB over 79 innings. He'll look to rebound in a tentative matchup with the Giants next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:10 pm

  • Shota Imanaga gives up 10 runs, 11 hits to Mets
Shota Imanaga was tagged for 10 runs and 11 hits in 3 1/3 innings by the Mets on Friday.

Advice: With his velocity down 1-2 mph on all of his pitches, Imanaga was crushed today, giving up three homers and 11 hard-hit balls in all. He was effective in his previous two starts, but this makes three out of five outings in which he’s struggled; he’s allowed 21 earned runs in those five outings after giving up a total of five in his first nine starts. The velocity is something to watch; he’s been really effective throwing at 92 mph at the top of the zone, but 90 mph might not get it done there. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:36 pm

  • On base five times in win
Rutschman went 3-for-5 with a double, two walks and three runs scored in Thursday's 17-5 win over the Yankees.

Advice: This was the catcher's second multi-hit effort over his last nine games, a span in which he's gone a meager 7-for-35 (.200). Rutschman started the year hot at the plate, but his struggles haven't cost him much playing time and he remains productive. He's hitting .293 with an .814 OPS, 14 home runs, 53 RBI, 39 runs scored and one stolen base over 70 contests this season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:17 pm
  • Records 12th save
Phillips earned a save against the Rockies on Thursday, striking out two batters in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Phillips cruised to the save on 11 pitches, punching out two of the three batters he faced. It was the fifth straight scoreless and hitless outing for the closer, who has allowed an earned run in only two of his 21 appearances this season. Phillips is 12-for-12 in save chances this season -- he's the only MLB closer with that many saves who remains perfect in save opportunities. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:13 pm
