    Crochet (6-6) took the loss against Houston on Wednesday, allowing three runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over six innings.

    Advice: Crochet racked up a hearty 19 whiffs and eight punchouts, but it wasn't enough to keep him out of the loss column in a contest during which he was supported with just one run. The fact that the three earned runs were the most the left-hander has allowed since April 24 speaks volumes about the quality of his campaign thus far. Crochet has tallied six consecutive quality starts and is tied for 10th in the majors with 10 total on the campaign.     Isaac Paredes slugged his 11th home run of the season on Wednesday night, helping to power the Twins past the Rays in extra innings.

    Advice: Paredes opened the scoring in the contest with a 359-foot (95.5 mph EV) solo shot off of Joe Ryan that was pulled down the left field line.     Garrett Crochet allowed three runs with eight strikeouts across six innings in a loss to the Astros on Wednesday.

    Advice: Crochet came into this one on a roll, not allowing more than two runs over each of his last nine starts. The Astros got to him for three on Wednesday, starting with three hits and a groundout to bring a run across in the third inning. A walk and two hits brought another run in to score in the fourth. After a scoreless fifth, Crochet allowed one more run in on a double and a base hit in the sixth. He still generated 19 whiffs to strike out eight batters.   • Christian Walker scores lone run in loss to Nats
    Christian Walker went 1-for-4 and scored the Diamondbacks’ lone run in Wednesday’s loss to the Nationals.

    Advice: The only run that the Diamondbacks were able to scratch out against Patrick Corbin and company on Wednesday afternoon came as Gabriel Moreno worked a bases-loaded walk in the third inning that allowed Walker to score. The 33-year-old slugger has been a force in the middle of the Diamondbacks’ lineup once again this season — slashing .255/.333/.475 with 16 homers, 49 RBI and a pair of stolen bases.     Advice: Taylor Walls (illness) will return to the lineup at shortstop after missing the Rays' previous three games, leaving no room in the infield for Caballero.     Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Judge (hand) won't be in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Orioles, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

    Advice: X-rays and a CT scan on Judge's left hand came back negative after he exited Tuesday's 4-2 win over Baltimore when he was hit by pitch. According to Meredith Marakovits of YES Network, Boone said that Judge took some swings in the batting cage Wednesday and is expected to avoid a trip to the injured list, but the slugger is still sore and will miss at least one start. Judge likely won't be available off the bench Wednesday, but the hope is he'll be able to return to action for Thursday's series finale. Trent Grisham will replace Judge in center field Wednesday.
