      Mike Yastrzemski went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and a two-run double against the Phillies on Monday.



      Advice: Yastrzemski started the scoring with a two-run double in the first inning. He’s having his worst season of his career so far with a .223 average and .673 OPS. Yastrzemski’s 30 percent strikeout percentage, .165 ISO and 94 wRC+ are all the worst of his career. He could lose playing time if he doesn’t turn it around soon.

    • Resumes flat-ground work
      Cabrera (shoulder) played catch from 60 feet Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Cabrera had to be shut down again after throwing a bullpen session on May 17, but he's been cleared to try to ramp things back up.     • Michael Busch sits for second straight game
      Michael Busch is not in the Cubs’ lineup on Monday against the Brewers.

      Advice: With the Brewers throwing a left-handed pitcher, Busch will find himself on the bench; however, he was also on the bench on Sunday. The rookie is hitting 12-for-64 (.188) in May with one home run and a 39.2 percent strikeout rate. If he doesn’t start picking it up soon, it’s fair to wonder how much longer the Cubs will keep him in the starting lineup. Patrick Wisdom will get the start on Monday and has now started three games in a row. He’d likely benefit the most from a decision to dial back on Busch’s playing time.       Hoskins (hamstring) plans to advance to hitting on the field Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

      Advice: Hoskins will clear a significant hurdle in his recovery from a right hamstring strain, as Monday's activity will mark his first time hitting on the field since he landed on the injured list. While there is still no set timetable for his return to action, it sounds like Hoskins isn't too far off from a rehab assignment. "I feel as good as I can," Hoskins said.     • Ronald Acuña Jr. (knee) placed on 10-day IL
      Braves placed OF Ronald Acuña Jr. on the 10-day injured list with a torn left ACL.

      Advice: Acuña Jr. was diagnosed with a torn ACL last night and will be out for the season. It’s a brutal blow for the Braves and Acuña Jr., who has now torn the ACL in both of his knees. The Braves called up J.P. Martinez to take Acuña Jr.'s spot in on the active roster, but Adam Duvall will likely see an uptick in playing time until the Braves maybe make a move for an outfielder.       Atlanta placed Acuna (knee) on the 10-day injured list Monday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Acuna suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during Sunday's 8-1 win in Pittsburgh and will undergo season-ending surgery in the coming days. He missed the second half of the 2021 season due to a torn ACL in his other knee and is now slated for another lengthy absence. Jarred Kelenic and Adam Duvall will likely be in line for additional at-bats in the corner outfield with Acuna out, though Atlanta could seek help from outside the organization.       Ginkel (2-1) was tagged with Sunday's 3-1 loss, giving up three unearned runs on three hits while striking out one over one inning to the Marlins.

      Advice: Ginkel deserved better, but the normally surehanded Kevin Newman had a throwing error that led to all of Miami's runs being unearned. It continues a rough stretch for Ginkel, the one-time closer, who has allowed nine runs (six earned) on 13 hits and two walks over last 6.1 innings.       The Braves announced that Ronald Acuña Jr. was diagnosed with a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.

      Advice: Just an absolutely brutal blow for the Braves and for fantasy managers. The 26-year-old outfielder had been hopeful that he would only need to miss a month’s worth of action, but his MRI exam on Sunday revealed the extensive damage. Expect Braves’ general manager Alex Anthopoulos to hit the trade market to bring in another option to bolster the Braves’ outfield in the wake of this miserable news.       Acuna has been diagnosed with a complete tear of the ACL in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.

      Advice: Acuna suffered a non-contact injury while trying to retreat to second base in the top of the first inning during Sunday's game against the Pirates. He missed the second half of the 2021 season due to a torn ACL in his right knee and now faces another lengthy recovery process. Over 48 games in 2024, Acuna slashed .246/.348/.356 with four homers, 38 runs, 16 steals and 15 RBI. Acuna will undergo surgery at an undisclosed date to address his ACL tear, while Jarred Kelenic and Adam Duvall should see additional playing time as the season progresses.
