    • Simulating innings Wednesday
Miller (shoulder) will throw two simulated innings at the Dodgers' complex in Arizona on Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Assuming all goes well Wednesday, Miller will move onto either a three-inning sim game or begin a rehab assignment with one of the Dodgers' minor-league affiliates. Either way, the 25-year-old right-hander will most likely require multiple appearances in the minors as he continues building up to a starter's workload. Rotowire.com 58 minutes ago

    • Bobby Miller set for another sim game Wednesday
Bobby Miller (shoulder) will face hitters on Wednesday in a two-inning simulated game.

Advice: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Miller will progress to either a three-inning simulated game or a minor league rehab assignment, if he gets through Wednesday’s session without any issues. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty is working his way back from right shoulder inflammation that put him on the shelf back in mid-April. Rotoworld Today, 5:11 pm

    • Hit in head during BP
Soler (shoulder) hit on the field Tuesday but walked off with a trainer after suffering an apparent injury, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Tuesday marked the first time Soler has hit off the field since landing on the IL, but his session came to an abrupt end when he fouled off a ball that ricocheted off the top of the cage and hit him in the head. It's unclear how severe the damage is, but the 32-year-old was at least shaken up enough for him to be shut down for the day. The Giants will take a closer look at him and may offer more information on his status in the near future. Rotowire.com Today, 4:55 pm

    • Jorge Soler leaves BP on Tuesday with trainer
Jorge Soler (shoulder) left batting practice on Tuesday with a trainer.

Advice: It’s not what you want to see. Soler was hitting on the field at Oracle Park for the first time since landing on the injured list last week with a right shoulder strain when he fouled a ball off the top of the cage that ricochetted back and struck him in the head. • Gives up one hit in loss
Butto (1-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Phillies, allowing two runs on one hit and four walks over five innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Butto was sharp for most of the day, though he hit a rough patch in the third inning -- the right-hander loaded the bases with two outs before hitting Alec Bohm with a pitch and walking Brandon Marsh. The two runs proved to be more than enough to stick Butto with the loss, as the Mets couldn't get anything going against Aaron Nola in a 4-0 shutout defeat. The 26-year-old Butto's allowed just six runs in his last three starts (16 innings), though he's gone 1-2 in that span. Overall, his ERA sits at a solid 3.08 through his first 38 innings this year with a 1.13 WHIP and 38:21 K:BB. Butto's currently in line for a road start early next week against the Guardians. • Patrick Bailey (illness) not in Tuesday’s lineup
Patrick Bailey (illness) is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Dodgers.

Advice: No surprise here as Bailey is headed for further evaluation to determine whether his recent illness is related to the concussion he suffered earlier this month. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him land on the injured list at some point this week. Rotoworld Today, 3:07 pm

    • Getting breather Tuesday
Marte is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Marte returned to second base for the last two games after spending two contests at designated hitter due to general body soreness. It would appear that him being absent from Tuesday's lineup is just a routine day off. Blaze Alexander is getting a start at second base and will bat second for the Diamondbacks. • José Buttó allows just one hit in defeat
José Buttó held the Phillies to two runs and one hit over five innings in a loss Tuesday.

Advice: The walks are really starting to pile up for Buttó now, but he’s remained tough to hit; the league is batting just .171 against him in his seven starts. He issued four free passes today, giving up nearly as many walks (21) as hits allowed (22) over his 38 innings. Unfortunately, he’ll miss the Marlins this weekend after the Mets made the move to a six-man rotation and will instead face the Guardians on Monday. Rotoworld Today, 1:12 pm

    • Nabs steal in win
Walker went 1-for-4 with a walk, one stolen base and two runs scored in Monday's 6-5 win over the Reds.

Advice: The steal was Walker's first of the year, which is a bit of a surprise since he stole 11 bases last season. He was caught stealing on his first two attempts in 2024. The first baseman has struggled in May, going 8-for-38 (.211) over 11 contests this month. He's still slashing a decent .265/.377/.437 with seven home runs, 27 RBI, 29 runs scored and five doubles over 42 contests overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:28 pm
