• Fans seven in loss
Dunning (2-2) took the loss Tuesday against Seattle, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks across 4.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Dunning was hit hard Tuesday, surrendering four extra-base hits, including a pair of two-run home runs by Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh. He's allowed a home run in all five of his starts this season and is tied for the second-most homers allowed in MLB (seven). Despite his power troubles, Dunning has been a quality source of strikeouts, punching out seven batters in three of his five starts this season. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Reds on Sunday. • Justin Lawrence gets save in rare Rockies’ win
Justin Lawrence turned in a scoreless ninth for his first save Tuesday against the Padres.

Advice: It’s just the second save by a Rockies pitcher this season. Jake Bird had the other one on Apr. 8, for getting one out in a game that wasn’t a save situation at the beginning of the ninth. Lawrence has looked better than Tyler Kinley thus far and is probably the favorite for saves in Colorado for now, though Victor Vodnik might be the choice in the long run. We’d still suggest staying away from the situation for now. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago
  • Michael King gets roughed up in fourth in loss
Michael King was tagged for six runs — four earned — in 3 2/3 innings by the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: King’s first start at Coors Field was going OK until the fourth, when two singles, an error and a grand slam gave the Rockies the lead. Alas, that still wasn’t the end of it, as King went on to allow a single, a double, an intentional walk and an unintentional walk to push in another run. He was finally pulled at that point, and Stephen Kolek was able to strand the bases loaded. King dropped to 2-2 with a 4.11 ERA. He’s still a decent enough play versus the Phillies next time out. • Dane Dunning gives up two homers in defeat
Dane Dunning yielded four runs in 4 1/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Dunning struck out seven, but two-run homers from Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodríguez ruined his night. Dunning has now given up seven homers in 27 1/3 innings for the year, which is why his ERA sits at 4.61 in spite of a nice 29/6 K/BB ratio. He’s an occasional streaming option in mixed leagues, but he doesn’t seem like a great play at home against Cincinnati this weekend. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

  • Notches first big-league save
Allen picked up the save Tuesday against St. Louis, allowing one hit and one walk with two strikeouts over three scoreless innings.

Advice: The Diamondbacks only needed to use two arms during Tuesday's 14-1 rout, with Allen taking over for starter Tommy Henry in the seventh and closing out the game. The save was Allen's first of his five-year MLB career (34 appearances) and the outing marked his second appearance with the D-Backs this season. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago

Matz (1-2) took the loss Tuesday against Arizona, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out four

Advice: All of the runs against Matz came in the third and fifth innings. In the third, he walked a pair of batters and allowed an RBI base hit to Lourdes Gurriel before Christian Walker launched a three-run homer. in the fifth, Matz allowed hits to three straight batters, two of which scored after he was pulled. After giving up three earned runs in his first 15.0 innings, Matz has surrendered 12 earned runs in his last two starts (9.1 innings) with eight K's and six walks. He's lined up to face the Tigers in Detroit on Monday. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago

  • Picks up win Tuesday
Barlow (1-2) struck out one without allowing a baserunner over two-thirds of an inning to earn the win Tuesday over the Red Sox.

Advice: Barlow entered with one on and one out in the top of the seventh inning. The baserunner, Rob Refsnyder, was erased when he was caught stealing, and Barlow struck out Enmanuel Valdez to end the inning. The Guardians then rallied ahead in their half of the frame. After a rough start to the season, Barlow has limited opponents to one run on three hits and a walk over his last 5.1 innings. It is notable that he entered the game with the Guardians behind while Hunter Gaddis, who has worked himself into the late-inning mix, pitched the eighth. Barlow is at a 4.09 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 13:7 K:BB through 11 innings overall, adding a save and five holds through 12 appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 8:38 pm

  • Grabs fourth save
Bednar earned the save in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over the Brewers, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: After a shaky start to the year, Bednar's now delivered three straight scoreless appearances, allowing just one hit in that span. Overall, he's 4-for-7 in save chances with a 9.00 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB through 12 innings this season. Rotowire.com Today, 8:32 pm

  • Nabs four-out save
Almonte picked up the save Tuesday against Houston, allowing no hits and no walks with a strikeout over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Advice: After manager Craig Counsell announced Sunday that Adbert Alzolay was no longer the Cubs' closer, Almonte landed closing duties Tuesday. While Almonte's the first Cub with a save since the announcement, Hector Norris -- who got a save in Game 2 of Saturday's double-header -- and Mark Leiter -- who Almonte replaced in the eighth -- could be part of what seems to be a short-term closing committee.
