      Advice: Eovaldi returned from the 15-day injured list last Tuesday and took back his spot in the Texas rotation, but he covered just three innings and tossed 37 pitches in the Rangers' 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks. Because Eovaldi didn't go on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to being activated, the Rangers deliberately limited his workload in what was his first start since May 2. Eovaldi didn't report any renewed discomfort with his right groin coming out of the outing against the Diamondbacks, so he should be in store for a more typical starter's workload Monday.       Luis Arraez (shoulder) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he was fine and would be in the Padres’ lineup on Monday.

      Advice: The 27-year-old wizard with the bat suffered a shoulder injury while sliding into second base in the fifth inning on Sunday. It looks like it’s only a minor issue though and not something that is going to keep Arraez out of action.       Stott went 1-for-4 with two RBI, two stolen bases and one walk in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Cardinals.

      Advice: Stott has had trouble getting on base lately -- he's 5-for-44 (.114) with two walks over his last 12 games -- but he's managed to steal four bases in that span. He played a more noticeable role Sunday with a two-run single to tie the game at 4-4 in the fifth inning. Those RBI were his first since May 21.       The Royals are hopeful that Wacha, who was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a small, non-displaced fracture in his left foot, will be able to rejoin the active roster in 3-to-4 weeks, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

      Advice: Though he's without an official timeline for a return, Wacha at least looks poised to avoid surgery to address the injury, which he sustained when he was hit by a line drive in the first inning of his start Friday against the Padres. According to MLB.com, Wacha will be able to play catch on a knee to help keep his arm conditioned, but a firmer target date won't come into focus until the soreness in his fractured foot subsides and he's able to put full weight on the leg when he throws.       Bryson Stott drove in a pair of runs and swiped two bases as the Phillies fell to the Cardinals in 10 innings on Sunday night.

      Advice: Stott drew a walk off of Lance Lynn in the opening inning and swiped second base, but the Phillies were unable to cash him in. He then tied the game up and chased Lynn with a two-run single in the fifth inning. Stott then deftly nabbed second base again, but the Phillies once again couldn’t score him.     • Freddie Freeman homers, swipes bag to lead Dodgers
      Freddie Freeman homered, swiped a base and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday, leading the Dodgers to a 4-0 victory over the Rockies.

      Advice: Freeman was the second member of the Dodgers’ lineup to victimize Austin Gomber in the opening inning, clobbering a 396-foot (104.1 mph EV) solo shot just off of the outstretched glove of Brenton Doyle to increase the Dodgers’ early lead to 2-0. The 34-year-old superstar then led off the third inning with a walk, swiped second base and scored on an RBI knock by Miguel Rojas. Freeman also plated a run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. For the season, he’s slashing .293/.399/.477 to go along with seven homers, 35 RBI and just two stolen bases.       Luis Castillo delivered a dominant performance in Sunday afternoon’s victory over the Angels, allowing just two hits and three walks over seven shutout innings.

      Advice: Castillo piled up six strikeouts in the impressive outing. The only real threat against him came in the fourth inning as the Angels used a pair of walks to put two men on with two outs for Jo Adell — who Castillo got to fly out harmlessly to center field. The 31-year-old hurler generated a staggering 21 swings and misses on 102 pitches in the contest — 13 of them on his fastball alone — while posting a strong CSW of 30 percent. Now 5-6 on the season, Castillo will carry a tidy 2.99 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and an 81/22 K/BB ratio (78 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Royals in Kansas City.       Castillo (5-6) allowed two hits and three walks while striking out six over seven scoreless innings to earn the win over the Angels on Sunday.

      Advice: Castillo's gone seven innings in three of his 13 starts this season, and he's kept runs off the board in the each of those outings. He allowed four runs in each of his first three starts of the season, but he hasn't given up more than three runs in any of his last 10 appearances, nine of which went down as quality starts.
