After a slow start to the campaign, he has started to turn things around, going 8-for-24 with three home runs, five RBI and four runs scored across his last six games.       Advice: Stroman has pitched into the eighth inning in two of his last four starts, allowing just three runs over 26.2 innings in that span. During his hot stretch, he's posted a 15:7 K:BB, but that's about the only weak spot in his game right now. Stroman is at a 2.73 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 55:29 K:BB over 69.1 innings across 12 starts.       Advice: Stroman allowed six hits with a pair of walks while striking out only two. The punchouts are not the 33-year-old’s strength, but he limits the hard contact and works deep enough into games to give fantasy managers a reason to smile more often than not.       MJ Melendez finished 0-for-4 while his teammates were combining to score eight runs Friday against the Padres.

      Advice: Melendez will likely turn this around if the Royals stick with him long enough, but at this point, sending him down for 2-3 weeks would make sense.       Advice: Both of the runs charged to Assad came in the fourth inning when the Reds strung together three straight singles. Still, it was a positive effort for Assad overall after he'd given up seven runs (six earned) over 9.2 innings in his previous two outings, though he now has seven or more strikeouts in three of his last four starts. Overall, the 26-year-old right-hander is 4-1 with a 2.27 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 61:26 K:BB through 63.1 innings this season.       Orioles GM Mike Elias announced Friday that Means will undergo surgery to repair the UCL in his left elbow and will miss the rest of the season, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: The left-hander headed for a second opinion after being diagnosed with a forearm strain last week, and he'll end up having a third straight injury-shortened campaign. It remains to be seen if Means will require Tommy John surgery -- which he also underwent in April 2022 -- or a lesser procedure, but his absence is likely to push into 2025 regardless.       Orioles’ general manager Mike Elias told reporters on Friday that left-hander John Means will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the UCL in his left elbow.

      Advice: Oof. It’s unclear if Means will undergo another Tommy John surgery, or if he’ll have the internal brace procedure done, but either way he’ll miss the rest of the 2024 campaign and at least the start of the 2025 season while recovering.
