    • Teoscar Hernández goes 0-for-4 in loss to Arizona
Teoscar Hernández finished 0-for-4 in the loss to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Advice: Hernández got a visit from the trainer after hurting his ankle while fielding a single in the second inning tonight, but he was able to finish the game without incident. His average dropped to .242 tonight, as he’s gone 7-for-39 with 13 strikeouts in his last 10 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:43 pm
    • Picks up eighth save
Jansen collected the save Tuesday, allowing one hit and no walks over a scoreless inning against the Rays. He didn't generate a strikeout.

Advice: Jansen hadn't pitched since allowing a pair of runs and taking a loss May 16 and was able to shake off the rust after allowing a leadoff double to Isaac Paredes in the ninth, retiring three straight batters to pick up his eighth save of the season. The veteran closer owns a 5.14 ERA this month and has struck out seven batters in 7.0 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:37 pm
    • Oneil Cruz sets Statcast record on 3 hits in win
Oneil Cruz went 3-for-5 with one RBI in a win over the Giants on Tuesday.

Advice: All three of Cruz’s hits were blasted with a 121.5 mph double, a 120.4 mph single, and a 116.3 mph double. He’s now the first player in the Statcast era to have three hits in one game over 115 mph, and his 121.5 mph double is the hardest-hit ball in MLB action this year, topping the 120.4 mph single he hit earlier in the game today. That’s quite a performance. Cruz is 19-for-64 (.297) in May with four home runs, 10 runs scored, and 11 RBI. He does have 18 strikeouts in 16 games, but his production has certainly started to tick up and if stolen bases follow, we could see a full breakout. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:24 pm

    • Elly De La Cruz has game’s only RBI in win
Elly De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in a win over the Padres on Tuesday.

Advice: The double accounted for the only RBI of the game, but it wasn’t particularly well hit at just 86 mph off the bat. It was just one of those nights where neither offense seemed to get anything going. The bigger news for De La Cruz was that he didn’t strike out on Tuesday after going 0-for-13 with eight strikeouts in the final three games of the Dodgers’ series. • Gerrit Cole (elbow) not ruling out June return
Gerrit Cole (elbow) faced hitters on Tuesday in a 22-pitch live batting practice session.

Advice: Cole told reporters afterwards that he came out of facing hitters for the first time since landing on the injured list back in spring training without any issues. The 33-year-old fantasy ace added that he wouldn’t rule out a potential return at some point next month. He’ll presumably face hitters a couple more times before heading out for a handful of minor league rehab starts to build up his pitch count and stamina. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:31 pm

    • Could return in June
Cole (elbow) faced live hitters Tuesday and will throw another live session this weekend, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Cole faced hitters for the first time since being shut down with elbow inflammation. He threw about 20 pitches in what's expected to be the first of two or three total live sessions. Cole will be eligible to return from the 60-day injured list before the end of May, but he'll require a multi-start rehab assignment and is still at least a few weeks away from making his season debut, likely at some point in June. • Not in Tuesday's lineup
Bogaerts (shoulder) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Cincinnati.

Advice: It's no surprise, of course, after Bogaerts suffered a left shoulder injury in the first game of Monday's doubleheader in Atlanta. Initial testing indicated that Bogaerts avoided a dislocation and might not need a stint on the injured list, but he and the Padres are still awaiting the results of other tests. Luis Arraez will handle second base Tuesday and Donovan Solano will be the designated hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:12 pm

    • Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) remains out Tuesday
Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Bogaerts was forced to leave Monday’s game against Atlanta with injury, and he’s been diagnosed with shoulder inflammation. The 31-year-old will miss at least one more game, and he should be considered day-to-day at this point. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:56 pm

    • Homers in first game of twin bill
Olson went 3-for-8 with a home run, a walk and two total RBI across both games of Monday's doubleheader split with San Diego.

Advice: Olson did most of his damage in Game 1, swatting a solo homer and adding another RBI on a single. The first baseman has gotten off to a slow start this season with a .230/.332/.410 slash line and just six homers through 44 games after going deep a career-high 54 times last year. Olson has been perking up with the bat of late, though, hitting .393 (11-for-28) with two home runs and seven RBI over his past eight contests. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:43 pm
