    Nick Castellanos went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in a 5-2 win for the Phillies on Thursday over the Rangers.

    Advice: Castellanos extended the Phillies’ lead to 5-2 with a solo blast in the seventh inning. The veteran outfielder has been able to provide five homers thus far in 2024, and the pair of hits see his average increase to a still-disappointing .206 mark.   • Rays waiting on Josh Lowe (side) IL decision
    Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports the Rays will wait until Friday before making a decision whether Josh Lowe (side) will require a trip to the injured list.

    Advice: Topkin added that an injured list stint seems likely, but Tampa Bay wants to wait and see how he feels on Friday before making a final decision. Rays manager Kevin Cash delivered an ominous “not ideal” statement to reporters following Lowe’s early exit from Wednesday’s game against the Red Sox due to right side tightness. The 26-year-old five-category impact fantasy contributor dealt with a similar issue back in spring training and underwent an MRI on Thursday to determine the severity of the issue.     Matt Chapman hit a three-run homer Thursday to help the Giants to a win over the Pirates.

    Advice: Chapman remains hot, and his three-run blast off Hunter Stratton got San Francisco back in the game; turning a 6-2 deficit into a 6-5 game. The 31-year-old has homered eight times, and three of those blasts have come in his last three games.     Joey Bart hit a grand slam Thursday in a loss to the Giants.

    Advice: Bart was ejected late in this game, but before that dismissal, he did some damage against the team that drafted him with the second-overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft. The backstop took Mason Black deep with the bases loaded to give Pittsburgh a 5-1 lead, but the Giants would end up coming back to win the contest.     Aaron Judge hit a solo homer in a 5-0 win over the Mariners on Thursday.

    Advice: Judge also walked twice and scored after one of those free passes. The slugger slaughtered a Luis Castillo offering for his 15th homer of the season and it gave New York a 2-0 lead.
