• Beginning assignment Tuesday
Ramos (quad) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Ramos was placed on the injured list Friday (retroactive to Wednesday) with a strained left quad, and the fact he is already beginning an assignment in Charlotte means he will almost certainly be activated when eligible Saturday. The 22-year-old infielder was 9-for-32 with two RBI through his first 10 games in the majors before getting hurt. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago

  • Slated to play in ACL games
Robert (hip) will begin playing in Arizona Complex League games on Wednesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Robert has been on the shelf since April 6 due to a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain, but he now appears to be ready to test his hip in a competitive environment. The plan is for him to remain at the White Sox's complex in Arizona through the weekend before officially beginning an assignment with one of Chicago's minor-league affiliates next week. The team has not revealed how long they expect the 26-year-old outfielder to remain on assignment, but it's likely he returns to the Sox sometime in June. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

  • Making next rehab start Friday
Uquidy (forearm) will make a rehab start Friday with Triple-A Sugar Land, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The right-hander threw 59 pitches in his previous outing Saturday and is expected to build up to 70-to-75 pitches Friday. If all goes well, Urquidy could step into Houston's rotation during the four-game series in Seattle next week. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

  • Unclaimed and outrighted
Carreras was not claimed by another club and has been outrighted by the Rockies to Triple-A Albuquerque, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Carreras was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Sunday. Thus he lost his 40-man roster spot, but he will remain with the organization after going unclaimed. The 24-year-old was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque in mid-March and has struggled there as well with a .515 OPS. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

  • Returning from suspension Sunday
Blanco (suspension) will be added to Houston's active roster to start Sunday at Oakland, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Astros unsurprisingly won't waste any time reinserting Blanco into the rotation upon the completion of his 10-game ban. The right-hander threw live batting practice Monday and shouldn't face any significant limitations in his first start back. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago

  • Cash: Ryan Pepiot starting Wednesday vs. Red Sox
Ryan Pepiot (leg) will start on Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Pepiot will be activated to take the ball on Wednesday against Boston after landing on the injured list earlier this month with a leg bruise after being hit by a 107.5 mph comebacker. The 26-year-old righty gets a decent matchup right away against the Red Sox at pitcher-friendly Tropicana Field. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

  • Adbert Alzolay (forearm) heads for second opinion
Adbert Alzolay is getting a second opinion on his right forearm.

Advice: Not great. Alzolay hit the injured list earlier this month with a right forearm strain and the fact that he’s seeking multiple medical opinions seems to indicate that he could be facing an extended absence. There should be some clarity on his status later this week, but it’s looking unlikely that he’ll be back anytime soon. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago

  • Jordan Wicks (forearm) ready for rehab assignment
Jordan Wicks (forearm) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday.

Advice: Wicks has been out since late April due to a left forearm strain, but is expected to progress to a minor league rehab assignment later this week. There’s a chance he’s back at some point in early June. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

  • Kodai Senga (shoulder) resumes playing catch
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters on Tuesday that Kodai Senga (shoulder) has resumed playing light catch.

Advice: Senga was scratched from a scheduled bullpen session earlier this week due to triceps tightness, so the fact that he’s already back throwing already is encouraging. The 31-year-old righty remains in rehabilitation purgatory as he tinkers with his mechanics. At this point, it’s extremely difficult to pinpoint when he’ll be ready to return this season, if at all.
