• Enters as pinch hitter
Refsnyder entered Thursday's game as a pinch hitter and went 0-for-1 in a 5-4 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Refsnyder pinch hit for second baseman Enmanuel Valdez and stayed in the game to play left field. It was the season debut for Refsnyder, who opened the year on the 10-day injured list due to a toe injury. He was activated to take the roster spot of Tyler O'Neill, who landed on the 7-day concussion list. Refsnyder will likely be in the starting nine whenever the Red Sox face a left-hander. • Drives in two
Yastrzemski went 1-for-4 with two runs batted in during Thursday's 5-0 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Yastrzemski stepped into the batter's box in the eighth inning with the bases loaded and delivered a two-RBI single off Kyle Nelson. It was just his second game of 2024 with an RBI as the outfielder has crawled to a .135/.238/.135 slash line through 14 games. He seems to be turning the corner on his sluggish start, going 4-for-17 (.235) over his last six appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:20 am
  • Everson Pereira homers twice on Thursday at AAA
Yankees OF prospect Everson Pereira went 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBI on Thursday for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: Pereira struggled last year in a brief 14-game cameo with the Yankees, but has always flashed some big-time power upside. The 23-year-old outfielder still needs to curb his propensity to swing and miss if he’s going to make an impact at the highest level. He certainly looks like a Quad-A masher at the moment, but could easily make the leap into a quality big-league contributor if his plate skills take a step forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:16 pm
  • Triple, stolen base vs. Guardians
Duran went 1-for-4 with a two-run triple, two runs scored and a stolen base in Thursday's 5-4 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Duran drew a walk to lead off the home half of the first inning before swiping his seventh bag of the year. The speedy outfielder would then drive in a pair of runs with a triple in the sixth inning, his first three-bagger this season. Duran is now 5-for-17 with three extra-base hits in his last four contests. He's off to a nice start following a promising 2023 campaign, slashing .301/.366/.422 with a home run, 12 runs scored and nine RBI through his first 20 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:53 pm
  • Reaches four times Thursday
Canha went 2-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 9-7 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Canha continues to provide steady production for the Tigers, as he has an .837 OPS across 18 games. The veteran outfielder recorded a .755 OPS last season and he's actually only finished above .800 once during his career, which came back in 2019 when he posted a .913 OPS and hit a career-high 26 home runs with the Athletics. Even if he slips into the .700 range, Canha should remain a solid if not spectacular fantasy asset. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:05 pm

  • Tallies two extra-base hits
Greene went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a triple, an RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 9-7 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: While Greene's batting average is still a bit underwhelming at .239, his .849 OPS is stronger due to eight extra-base knocks through 19 games. In fact, exactly half of the outfielder's hits have gone for extra bases so far. Greene is heating up, and with his ability to leg out doubles or hit the ball over the wall, he should be primed for good numbers the rest of the way. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:56 pm
  • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. getting night off on Thursday
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is not in the lineup for Thursday’s series opener against the Giants.

Advice: It appears to be a routine off day for Gurriel with Jake McCarthy getting the nod in left field to face Giants ace Logan Webb. The 30-year-old slugger is batting .263 (20-for-76) with five homers, 20 RBI and two steals across 84 plate appearances through 18 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:47 pm
  • Tyler O’Neill (concussion) targets Tuesday return
Tyler O’Neill (concussion) is hoping to return for next Tuesday’s series opener against the Guardians.

Advice: O’Neill confirmed Thursday to reporters that he’s been diagnosed with a concussion and has been dealing with some dizziness and lightheadedness. He added that he was feeling a bit better on Thursday a few days after a brutal on-field collision with teammate Rafael Devers. He’ll travel with the team this weekend, despite being on the 7-day concussion injured list, and is hoping to be ready to return when first eligible next week. There should be some clarity on his status at some point this weekend or early next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:25 pm

  • Hopes to return when eligible
O'Neill (concussion) will travel with the Red Sox to Pittsburgh this weekend and hopes to be activated when first eligible Tuesday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Advice: O'Neill confirmed that he has a concussion as a result of his collision with Rafael Devers on Monday, but he's feeling better and is aiming for a minimum absence. It's too soon to count on that, of course, given the uncertain nature of concussions. O'Neill is third in baseball with seven home runs this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:03 pm
