      Duran (3-3) allowed two runs on two hits and struck out one over one inning Friday, taking the loss and a blown save versus the Athletics.

      Advice: Duran served up a two-run home run to Shea Langeliers after being called upon to protect a 5-4 lead in the eighth inning. This was Duran's first blown save of the year -- he's converted 11 saves and added four holds over 24 appearances. The closer has a 3.91 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 21:8 K:BB through 23 innings.       Miller struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 6-5 win over the Twins.

      Advice: Shea Langeliers put the Athletics ahead in the eighth inning, and Miller was able to slam the door in the ninth. He hasn't been charged with a run over his last 4.2 innings while posting a 5:2 K:BB in that span.     • Jhoan Duran blows save in eighth against A’s
      Jhoan Duran blew a save while allowing two runs and also picked up a loss to the A’s on Friday.

      Advice: Duran has lost three games in 2024, but this was technically his first blown save of the year. The right-hander came in during the eighth, but gave up a hit to Daz Cameron and then a two-run blast to Shea Langeliers.     • Mason Miller needs just seven pitches for save
      Mason Miller struck out one in a clean ninth to get a save against the Twins on Friday.

      Advice: Miller “only” picked up one strikeout, but he also needed just seven pitches to get through the outing with five of those landing for strikes. The 25-year-old has locked down 14 saves for the A’s in 2024, and his ERA is a very healthy 2.08. The future is incredibly bright for Miller as long as he can stay on the field, but this version is pretty darn good, too. Rotoworld Friday, 9:09 pm
       
    • Ryan Pepiot unravels in fourth inning
      Ryan Pepiot allowed two earned runs in 3 1/3 on Friday against the Pirates. He walked four and struck out three.

      Advice: Pepiot started strong with three punch outs in his first three innings and held a big lead. He looked to be in complete control until a lead-off walk to Rowdy Tellez in the bottom of the fourth and wouldn’t make it through the inning. His line could’ve been worse as he left the game with the bases loaded and one out, but Colin Poche got out of the jam with a double-play ball. It seemed he didn’t have a feel for his slider in this one as he threw just three. That pitch has been a difference-maker for him this season and it would be a concern if he took it out of his repertoire going forward. Rotoworld Friday, 6:29 pm

      Duran (3-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Tampa Bay, striking out two during a perfect ninth inning.

      Advice: Duran took the mound in the top of the ninth inning with the game tied, 6-6, and didn't allow a hit for a fifth consecutive appearance. After Carlos Santana delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth, Duran ended up qualifying for his third win of the campaign.       Miller struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Royals.

      Advice: Miller took a blown save in his last outing, though it was because he allowed an inherited runner to score. He's struggled a bit lately, allowing nine runs (six earned) with a 16:7 K:BB across 12.1 innings over his last 10 appearances. He's still performing quite well in the closer role for the Athletics, pitching to a 2.20 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 57:12 K:BB over 32.2 innings while going 13-for-15 in save chances this year.       Mason Miller recorded his 13th save with a scoreless ninth against the Royals on Tuesday.

      Advice: Miller had it easy tonight, getting one strikeout and a pair of routine flies. He’s had some hiccups of late, but he remains about as good of a bet as any reliever from an ERA and strikeout perspective. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:55 pm

      Pivetta (4-4) allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk over seven innings Monday, striking out four and earning a win over Toronto.

      Advice: Pivetta gave up one run through five frames before allowing solo homers to Justin Turner and Davis Schneider in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively. Pivetta is 2-0 with a 3.50 ERA in three starts this month after posting a disappointing 5.55 ERA in May. For the season, he owns a 3.88 ERA alongside a 59:14 K:BB through 10 starts.
