• Laces triple in loss
Rooker went 1-for-5 with an RBI triple in an extra-inning loss to the Twins on Friday.

Advice: Rooker's seventh-inning three-bagger plated JJ Bleday to snap a 4-4 tie, giving the Athletics a temporary reprieve after they'd blown an early 4-0 lead. The triple was Rooker's second of the season -- a new career high -- and marked his first extra-base hit since June 4. The veteran outfielder has now hit safely in five of his last seven games, but he's also carrying a .172 average and 43.3 percent strikeout rate across the 30 plate appearances he's logged in that span. • Crushes three-run homer in win
O'Neill went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in a 9-3 win over the Phillies on Thursday.

Advice: O'Neill singled in the first inning then broke the game open in the fourth, crushing a three-run homer off Aaron Nola that traveled 430 feet over the Green Monster. After returning at DH from a knee injury Wednesday, O'Neill got the start in right field Thursday and hit his first home run since May 19. O'Neill endured a terrible May, hitting .151 with two home runs and five RBI over 73 at-bats, but he has opened June by going 7-for-16 with a homer and five RBI in just five contests. Health has always been a concern for O'Neill, as he has eclipsed 100 games played in a season just once, but he is now slashing .256/.356/.512 with 12 home runs in 2024. • O’Neill crushes 12th home run Thursday
Tyler O’Neill went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run against the Phillies on Thursday.

Advice: O’Neill’s home run was his 12th and his first since May 19th against St. Louis. He was back in right field after missing Tuesday’s game with knee discomfort and occupying the designated hitter spot on Wednesday. Fantasy managers have to be pleased with these developments. • Getting day off
Schuemann is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Minnesota.

Advice: Schuemann wore the golden sombrero in Wednesday's loss to the Padres, so he will be given the day off Thursday to regroup. Aledmys Diaz will draw the start at shortstop. Rotowire.com Thursday, 12:54 pm

  • Gathers hit, RBI in win
O'Neill went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Phillies.

Advice: O'Neill returned from a knee injury and served as Boston's designated hitter. He tried to stretch a single into a double in the first inning but was thrown out, which suggests O'Neill's knee is feeling better. He later plated a run on a sacrifice fly during the Red Sox's five-run fifth inning, which helped wipe out Philadelphia's early 4-0 lead. Rotowire.com Thursday, 5:54 am

  • Goes deep Wednesday
Lindor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and two total runs in a 10-4 victory versus Miami on Wednesday.

Advice: Lindor opened the bottom of the first inning with a double and subsequently scored on Harrison Bader's home run. The shortstop hit a long ball of his own in the eighth frame, going 414 feet to center field. Lindor has disappointed a bit this season after notching his first 30-30 campaign last year, though with 11 homers and nine steals he's one theft away from reaching double digits in both categories -- something only seven MLB players have done so far this season. • Records 11th save
Megill earned the save Wednesday in a 5-4 win over the Blue Jays, working around a hit and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: After Toronto logged three straight hits off Hoby Milner to start the ninth, the Brewers turned to Megill to shut the door. He got off to a shaky start, allowing two inherited runs to score after a hit and a walk, though he'd ultimately settle in and close out the 5-3 victory. The 30-year-old Megill has now converted Milwaukee's last three save chances while allowing just one earned run in his last seven appearances. Megill's converted 11 of 12 save opportunities this year while working to a 1.89 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 25:5 K:BB across 19 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:52 pm

  • Willy Adames powers Brewers to win over Blue Jays
Willy Adames slugged a gargantuan two-run homer on Wednesday, powering the Brewers to a 5-4 victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Adames followed teammate Christian Yelich’s go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning with a colossal 446-foot moonshot to straightaway center field off Toronto southpaw reliever Tim Mayza. The 28-year-old shortstop has homered twice in his last three contests and is up to 11 round-trippers on the year, which puts him on pace to threaten his previous career-high mark of 31 big flies that he set back in 2022. • Trevor Megill hangs on for save against Blue Jays
Trevor Megill tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Blue Jays to record his 11th save of the season.

Advice: Megill got the call to protect a three-run lead in the ninth inning after lefty Hoby Milner was unable to record an out to open the frame. He gave up a run-scoring single to Bo Bichette, which put the potential tying runs on-base before walking Danny Jansen to load the bases. He somehow managed to extinguish the fire and preserve the victory by striking out George Springer, getting Alejandro Kirk to fly out and coaxing a game-ending line-out from pinch-hitter Vladimir Guerrero Jr. It truly was one of the more impressive escape acts of the year.
