• Leaves game after HBP
Ramos was removed from Saturday's Cactus League game against the Cubs after getting hit in the foot by a pitch, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Ramos was able to limp off the field after taking the pitch off his right foot/ankle. He will likely go into the clubhouse for imaging, and the Giants should be able to offer more information on the severity of his injury after Saturday's game. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago
  • Heliot Ramos leaves game after being hit by pitch
Heliot Ramos was removed from Saturday’s Cactus League contest against the Cubs after being hit by a pitch on his right foot.

Advice: The Giants are likely just taking every possible precaution here, but he’ll probably go for X-rays just to ensure that there’s no structural damage. Expect the Giants to have an update on the promising young outfielder’s status as soon as one becomes available. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
  • Bryan De La Cruz knocks in four runs in victory
Bryan De La Cruz doubled twice and drove in four runs as the Marlins edged a Cardinals split-squad 9-8 on Saturday.

Advice: If the Marlins weren’t so cheap, they likely would have tried to upgrade their outfield over the winter. Fortunately for De La Cruz, that never materialized, leaving him as the likely regular in left field in spite of his mediocre offense and very disappointing defense. He still might have a little fantasy upside, but that the offense around him is pretty bad hurts the cause. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago
  • Matthew Liberatore surrenders two runs to Marlins
Matthew Liberatore gave up two runs in two innings versus the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: In adding three veterans to their rotation in free agency, the Cardinals made it very clear over the winter that they have little faith in their young pitchers. It’s rather hard to blame them, too. Liberatore still has a reasonable chance of turning into a legitimate major league starter, but his upside seems diminished, and it doesn’t seem like he’s in the right organization to get things turned around. • Helsley shows diminished velocity versus Marlins
Ryan Helsley tossed a scoreless frame against the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Helsley averaged 96.2 mph with his fastball today, which was down 99.7 mph from last year. It’s not something to worry about at this point, but we’ll definitely want to see that creep up over the course of his next several outings. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago
  • Louie Varland goes two scoreless versus Pirates
Louie Varland pitched scoreless ball for two innings against the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Interesting is that Varland’s cutter velocity was down nearly two mph today, while his fastball was up slightly from last year; the difference between the pitches was eight mph, as compared to six mph last year. Varland wants a rotation spot, but the Twins might play it safe and go with Anthony DeSclafani over him initially. Varland is definitely the more intriguing of the two for fantasy purposes. • Henry Davis goes 2-for-3 versus Twins
Henry Davis went 2-for-3 against the Twins on Saturday.

Advice: The Pirates have dropped hints about making Yasmani Grandal their starting catcher and sending Davis back to Triple-A, which would be an extremely disappointing development. It’s been really hard to understand just what the team is doing here; Davis, the first overall pick in the 2021 draft, mostly caught in the minors until the Pirates decided to make him their right fielder last summer. His defense is in question, but unless he’s truly awful behind the plate, he’s a better option than Grandal right now, and if he is truly awful, the Pirates need to just pull off the band-aid and commit to him elsewhere. • Exits with quad strain
Stefanic left Saturday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers early due to a left quad strain, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: The severity of Stefanic's injury is unknown, but the Angels will likely have more information following Saturday's contest. Stefanic slashed .290/.380/.355 across 71 plate appearances last season with Los Angeles and found consistent success in Triple-A as well, but his chances at making the big-league roster out of camp may take a significant hit if he's forced to miss a large portion of spring training. • Colton Cowser hits walkoff homer versus Red Sox
Collin Cowser hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to give the Orioles a 4-3 win over the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: The homer came off Nate Tellier. Cowser was hit by a pitch in his other plate appearance today. The 2021 first-round pick isn’t getting talked about as much of a candidate for Baltimore’s roster, since the team still wants him playing regularly. It’ll likely come down to Ryan McKenna and Sam Hilliard for the reserve outfield gig, though if someone gets hurt, Cowser and Heston Kjerstad would be the top candidates to fill in.
