    • Facing long-term absence
Manager Oli Marmol said Friday that Nootbar (oblique) is expected to miss several weeks, John Denton of MLB.com

Advice: On top of what seems to be a multi-week absence, Nootbar will need at least a week-long rehab assignment in the minors, meaning the 26-year-old may miss the entirety of June. While he's sidelined, Alec Burleson should serve as St. Louis' everyday right fielder, while Matt Carpenter should see the brunt of the DH work. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:29 pm

    • Cardinals put Lars Nootbaar (oblique) on 10-day IL
Cardinals placed OF Lars Nootbaar on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 30, with a left oblique strain.

Advice: Nootbaar felt something in his side after taking a swing and was removed from Wednesday’s game. Now he lands on the injured list and will likely wind up missing a couple weeks. Alec Burleson and Dylan Carlson will see increased playing time in the outfield in Nootbaar’s stead. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:45 am

    • Lands on IL with oblique strain
The Cardinals placed Nootbaar on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 30, with a left oblique strain.

Advice: Nootbaar suffered the injury on a check swing during Wednesday's win over the Reds. It's the outfielder's second stint on the IL this season, as he previously missed time with two fractured ribs. The timing is poor, as Nootbaar was slashing .313/.418/.552 with four home runs over his last 79 plate appearances. With Nootbaar out, Alec Burleson will play more in the outfield and Matt Carpenter will see time at designated hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:10 am

    • Ends hitless skid
Marte went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Mets.

Advice: Marte produced Arizona's only offense with a two-run double in the third inning. The hit snapped an 0-for-22 run for Marte, who despite the slump, still leads the team's qualified batters with a .265 average. He's also tops among teammates in doubles (13) and is tied for second in RBI (29). Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:41 am

    • Ketel Marte drives home pair with double in loss
Ketel Marte hit a two-run double in a loss Thursday to the Mets.

Advice: Marte gave the D-backs a 2-0 lead with a two-run double in the third inning off Christian Scott. The infielder remains a solid — if at times inconsistent — option with 13 doubles, 29 RBI and .788 OPS over the first 56 games of the season. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:57 pm

    • Correa has three RBI in win Thursday
Carlos Correa went 1-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and three RBI against the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Correa cleared the bases with a triple in the sixth inning that put the Twins ahead for good. Despite missing some time with an injury, he’s quietly having a nice season. Correa is hitting .259 with a .187 ISO, 22 runs and 18 RBI in 39 games this year. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:09 pm

    • Swats homer Wednesday
Verdugo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 2-1 victory against the Angels.

Advice: Verdugo's fourth-inning solo shot equaled the margin of victory in the pitching-dominated matchup. The long ball was his eighth of the season, putting Verdugo well on pace to surpass the career-best mark of 13 homers that he's reached two separate seasons. In his first campaign as a Yankee, Verdugo has added 29 RBI, 27 runs, a stolen base and a .260/.321/.439 slash line through 221 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:06 am

    • Goes deep Wednesday
Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Mets.

Advice: Ohtani knocked a run-scoring single in the fifth inning and capped his performance with a two-run blast in the eighth. The long ball was his first since May 17 and pushed him to 14 on the campaign, eighth-most in the majors. Ohtani has added 38 RBI, 41 runs, 13 stolen bases and a .330/.395/.615 slash line through 248 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:17 am

    • Racks up 16th hold
Harvey gave up a hit and struck out three over 1.1 scoreless innings Wednesday to record his 16th hold of the season in a win over Atlanta.

Advice: The 29-year-old righty is second in the majors in holds behind the Cardinals' JoJo Romero, who has 18. Harvey has stayed healthy so far in 2024 and produced dominant numbers with a 2.22 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 33:6 K:BB through 28.1 innings, but he has yet to pick up a save due to Kyle Finnegan also remaining sharp as the Nationals' closer.
