      Advice: Rodriguez started the scoring with an RBI single in the third inning and added another RBI single in the sixth inning to put the Mariners ahead 7-0. He’s now up to .273 with 23 RBI on the season. Rodriguez hasn’t lived up to his first round draft status so far this season because his power has nosedived.       Sonny Gray allowed four runs in five innings and took the loss in the Cardinals’ 6-1 loss against the Phillies on Saturday.

      Advice: Gray gave up five hits, walked three and struck out 10. The Phillies jumped on him early scoring three runs in the first inning. Gray was mostly in charge the rest of the way allowing only one more run and recording 10 punch outs. His 77 strikeouts this season put him inside the top 15 for starting pitchers in all off baseball. The 34-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rockies at home next week.       Alec Marsh went five innings while allowing five runs in a loss Saturday to the Padres.

      Advice: Marsh, 26, dealt with control and command issues in this one, as he allowed seven hits, three walks and threw 49-of-80 pitches for strikes. It makes back-to-back outings where the right-hander has allowed five earned runs, but he pitched much better against Minnesota on Monday than this outing.
