    Josh Smith homered and doubled in a loss to the Mariners on Thursday.

    Advice: Smith picked up one of two homers the Rangers hit off of Luis Castillo, and his was a solo shot that tied the game at 2-2. The left-handed hitting infielder is off to a strong start with the bat to open 2023, as the two extra-base hits has him slashing .292/.393/.417 over 72 at-bats. Rotoworld 44 minutes ago
  • Luis Urías hits go-ahead homer as M’s top Rangers
    Luis Urías hit a go-ahead two-run homer to help the Mariners to a 4-2 win over the Rangers on Thursday.

    Advice: With the score tied at 2-2, Urías swatted a two-run blast off Andrew Heaney to give Seattle a 4-2 lead and ultimately the victory. It’s the second homer of the season for the 26-year-old, and he’s now posting a respectable .803 OPS. Urías should continue to get at-bats against southpaws, but Josh Rojas is going to get much more playing time at third in the strong-side of the platoon. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago
  • José Ramírez drives in four in win over Red Sox
    José Ramírez went 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and a steal in a win over the Red Sox on Thursday.

    Advice: Ramirez crushed a second-inning pitch from Chase Anderson 384 feet at 107.8 mph off the bat for his fifth home run of the season. He’s now slashing .260/.271/.471 on the season with 23 RBI and three steals. Ramirez has been hyper-aggressive this season, raising his chase rate and his overall swing rate by 10 percent. As a result, he has just a two percent walk rate and is making less hard contact than he did last year. He still makes an elite amount of contact, but you do have to wonder if the increased aggression will make it harder for him to reach that .280-.300 batting average that we’re used to seeing.   • Boone: Jon Berti nearing rehab assignment
    Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Jon Berti (groin) could potentially start a minor league rehab assignment this weekend.

    Advice: Berti has been out since mid-April due to a left adductor strain. The 34-year-old will occupy a versatile bench role for the Yankees once he’s ready to return. Rotoworld Today, 1:15 pm

    Nick Senzel (illness) was scratched from the starting lineup on Thursday against the Dodgers.
