  • Padres interested in Rangers' Alberto
According to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com, the Padres have expressed interest in Rangers infielder Hanser Alberto.

Advice: Sullivan also notes that the Rangers like Padres outfielder Travis Jankowski, so there could be some movement here. Alberto owns a brutal .194/.204/.226 career batting line at the major league level, but the 24-year-old is capable of playing good defense all around the infield and his contract runs through 2021. • LAD 'prefer to just bring back' Justin Turner
According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the Dodgers "prefer to just bring back Justin Turner."

Advice: There is talk of trade interest from the Dodgers in White Sox third baseman Todd Frazier, but it sounds like Los Angeles will try to negotiate with Turner first. Turner's free agent market has yet to fully develop, but he figures to hit it big after slashing .275/.339/.493 with 27 home runs in 2016. He has an .856 OPS (136 OPS+) over the last three seasons and also plays a pretty good third base. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:55 pm

  • Dodgers interested in 3B Todd Frazier
Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports that the Dodgers have expressed interest in White Sox third baseman Todd Frazier.

Advice: There's mutual interest in Justin Turner returning to Los Angeles, but the Dodgers are monitoring the potential alternatives. Now that the White Sox have traded Chris Sale, it makes sense that Frazier will also be on the block. He's under team control for one more season before hitting free agency. Frazier hit just .225 with a .302 on-base percentage in 2016, but he slugged a career-high 40 homers. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:51 am
  • Brewers acquire Travis Shaw in Thornburg deal
Brewers acquired INFs Travis Shaw and Maurico Dubon, RHP Josh Pennington, and a player to be named later or cash considerations from the Red Sox for RHP Tyler Thornburg.

Advice: The rebuilding Brewers have now traded Thornburg, Will Smith, and Jeremy Jeffress in the past six months. They landed a considerable haul here, though only Shaw will help in the short-term. He figures to take over at third base while Jonathan Villar will move over to second base. Shaw, 26, batted .242 with 16 homers and a .726 OPS in 2016. As a left-handed batter, he should be in a good position to deliver fantasy value with his new team. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:07 am
  • Report: Nats, Angels interested in INF Drew
Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that the Nationals and Angels are among the teams looking at free agent infielder Stephen Drew.

Advice: Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reported last week that the Angels have had preliminary talks with Drew. The Nationals remain interested in bringing him back, but he could have a more prominent role with the Angels. Drew turns 34 years old next March and batted .266 with eight homers and an .864 OPS over 165 plate appearances this past season. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:44 am
