  • Margot homers and triples to lead Padres
Manuel Margot went 2-for-4 with a homer, triple and two RBI on Wednesday, leading the Padres to a 6-3 victory over the Mets.

Advice: Margot got the scoring started early, crushing a two-run homer off of Steven Matz in the first inning. He then tripled and scored on a double by Wil Myers his next time up in the third. With the two-hit attack, the rookie outfielder is hitting .272/.315/.401 with six homers, 19 RBI and 10 swipes in his first 293 plate appearances. Yesterday, 10:29 pm
  • Wilmer Flores goes deep in loss to Padres
Wilmer Flores crushed his 11th home run of the season in a losing effort against the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: His solo shot pulled the Mets to within three runs at 6-3 in the eighth inning, but that would be the extent of their offense in the ballgame. Flores finished the night 1-for-3 plus a walk and is now slashing .283/.316/.489 with 11 long balls and 30 RBI on the year. Yesterday, 10:16 pm
  • Carrasco allows two runs in 6 1/3 vs Angels
Carlos Carrasco let in two runs over 6 1/3 innings and did not get a decision as his team beat the Angels 10-4 on Wednesday.

Advice: Carrasco pitched well all evening but was relieved before the Indians erupted for seven runs in the eighth inning. He struck out five batters without issuing a base-on-balls in the contest. He gave up six hits, including a solo homer by first baseman Luis Valbuena in the seventh inning. Carrasco's record holds at 10-4 with a 3.58 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 20 starts. He has an elite 135/31 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 123 1/3 innings. Yesterday, 9:42 pm
  • Anthony Rizzo plates four to lead Cubs in win
Anthony Rizzo went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI on Wednesday, leading the Cubs to an 8-3 victory over their cross-town rivals.

Advice: Rizzo's bases-clearing three-run double off of James Shields in the fifth inning increased the Cubs' lead to 4-0 and proved to be the difference in the ballgame. He chipped in an RBI single in the eighth inning for good measure. Rizzo is now hitting .258/.385/.508 with 23 homers and 66 RBI on the season. Yesterday, 9:35 pm
  • Urena gives up five runs, still beats Rangers
Jose Urena picked up his ninth victory of the season on Wednesday despite allowing five runs on four hits over his five frames.

Advice: Urena also issued four walks while striking out five on the night. Thankfully, the Marlins provided him with a bushel of run support and all he needed to do was avoid a disaster to earn the victory. He'll bring a 4.04 ERA and 1.28 WHIP into Monday's matchup against the Nationals. Yesterday, 9:17 pm
