Player Notes

  • Tommy Pham blasts third homer vs. Blue Jays
Tommy Pham went 2-for-4 with a solo homer on Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Pham had a base hit in the third inning, but the White Sox were held without a run until the eighth. He started the frame with a solo blast off Génesis Cabrera. The 36-year-old outfielder is up to three homers and three steals while slashing .316/.356/.474 across 101 plate appearances. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago
  • Juan Soto homers twice in win
Juan Soto went 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI as the Yankees defeated the Mariners 7-3 on Wednesday.

Advice: It has been a magical first season in the Bronx for Soto who heard “MVP” chants after his second big fly. He’s been every bit as advertised for the Yankees and fantasy managers alike with a .313/.409/.978 slash line and 13 homers so far this season. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago
  • Cal Raleigh tags three-run homer in loss
Cal Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run on Wednesday in a loss to the Yankees.

Advice: The Orioles offense was quiet all night besides Raleigh’s blast. He golfed a changeup from Luke Weaver, which has been one of the best individual pitches in baseball this season, just barely over the right-field fence for his 11th long ball of the season. It would’ve been a homer in fewer than half of the league’s stadiums, but this was the only one that mattered. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago
  • Chris Bassitt shuts down White Sox over seven
Chris Bassitt tossed seven scoreless innings with four strikeouts in a win over the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Bassitt had his best outing of the season, putting up his first zero on the scoreboard. He shut out the White Sox across seven innings, scattering five hits and two walks while striking out four on 107 pitches. The 35-year-old right-hander will take a 4.39 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and a 49/25 K/BB ratio across 55 1/3 innings into a start against the White Sox in Chicago on Monday. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago
  • Nestor Cortes lasts five innings in win
Nestor Cortes pitched five scoreless innings on Wednesday against the Mariners. He scattered three hits and three walks while striking out six and earning the win.

Advice: Cortes had a tougher time in this one than the box score would suggest as the Mariners put men on base in each of the first four innings with a handful of runners in scoring position. Still, Cortes found a way to wiggle out of every jam and earned his third win of the season. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago
  • Nick Nastrini blasted for nine runs in loss to Jays
Nick Nastrini allowed nine runs over 3 1/3 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Advice: The Blue Jays were all over Nastrini on Wednesday, and Chicago let the rookie right-hander go as long as they could. After a scoreless first inning, Nastrini surrendered seven runs in the second, including a two-run homer by Bo Bichette. Two walks and a base hit in the fourth brought two more runs across. Nastrini walked one more batter before he was finally relieved with one out. Another start in the rotation would come next week against the same Blue Jays in Chicago. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
  • Bryce Miller allows three home runs in loss
Bryce Miller allowed five earned runs on five hits, including three homers, across six innings in a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday. He struck out four and walked none.

Advice: Aaron Judge and Juan Soto jumped all over Miller in this one accounting for all of his earned runs with three combined homers. Miller was visibly frustrated as the pitches they hit out weren’t even bad: Soto took two sinkers on the edge to left field and Judge golfed a low and away slider into the short porch. This was the type of game you have to tip your cap and move on from. Miller will take a 3.53 ERA into his next start on Monday at home against the Astros. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
  • Marcell Ozuna’s three-run blast lifts Braves in win
Marcell Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer to power the Braves to a 9-2 victory over the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Ozuna’s incredible season continues with another home run on Wednesday. This one was a three-run blast off Jose Cuas in the seventh inning to extend the Atlanta lead. It was Ozuna’s third homer in four games and 15th of the season while slashing an outstanding .324/.405/.641 with 46 RBI across 195 plate appearances. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago
  • Matt Olson slugs solo homer against Cubs
Matt Olson went 2-for-5 with a solo homer against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Olson is having a much better month at the plate after a cold start in April, with multiple hits in five of his last nine games. He sent one of the fence in this one, taking Jose Cuas deep for a solo homer in the seventh inning. The 30-year-old slugger is hitting .228/.325/.415 with seven homers and 26 RBI across 197 plate appearances. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago
