  • Swats first homer
Nevin went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Thursday in a 3-1 victory versus the Yankees.

Advice: Nevin's two-run blast in the third inning proved to be the winning hit, as neither team crossed the plate after that point. The long ball was his first this season and just his sixth through 375 big-league plate appearances. Nevin hasn't flashed much power in the big leagues thus far and has never stolen a base as a major leaguer, so his upside is quite limited, though he's at least put together a decent .286/.355/.375 slash line this season. • Smashes long ball in loss
Kim went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run against Colorado in a loss Thursday.

Advice: Kim's third-inning blast gave San Diego a short-lived three-run lead. The long ball was his fourth of the season and just his second extra-base hit over his past eight contests. Kim has added 17 RBI, 17 runs, seven steals and a .238/.339/.436 slash line through 119 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:12 pm
  • Homers in win
Miranda went 2-for-4 with a home run, one RBI and one run scored in Thursday's 6-3 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Miranda hasn't been able to get on base so far since getting called up as he was hitting just .200 (7-for-35) with just one walk in 13 games before Thursday. He'll need to keep on a roll to get regular time at third base. However, Kyle Farmer is slumping even worse with a .297 OPS as the Twins struggle to find production at third base in the absence of Royce Lewis. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:19 pm
  • Orelvis Martinez continues mashing at Triple-A
Blue Jays INF prospect Orelvis Martinez launched a three-run homer on Thursday for Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: Martinez has homered seven times in his last nine games and continues to make a compelling case to get the call to Toronto. The 22-year-old slugger is batting .325 (27-for-83) with a 1.060 OPS through 21 games so far. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:24 pm
  • Heating up
Devers went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Devers produced a second consecutive three-hit effort after missing five games with a knee injury. He's 6-for-9 with a double, home run, two RBI and two runs scored in his two games back. The downtime appears to have given the balky shoulder he was dealing with during Boston's homestand last week time to heal. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:29 pm
  • Junior Caminero exits AAA game early on Thursday
Rays 3B/SS prospect Junior Caminero made an early exit from Thursday’s game at Triple-A Durham.

Advice: Caminero returned to minor league game action last week from a left quad strain, so his departure is a bit concerning since it came immediately following a fourth-inning double. There should be an update on the 20-year-old top prospect’s status at some point in the coming days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:12 pm
  • Homers in loss
Smith started at shortstop and went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 loss to Seattle.

Advice: Smith launched his first homer of the season in the fourth inning, which tied the game momentarily before the Mariners plated two a half-inning later. He got the start at shortstop while primary starter Corey Seager served as DH a day after he left a game with a bruised shin. If Seager is limited to DH for a bit, Smith will be the primary fill-in at short. If Seager is ready for a defensive role, then Smith will go back to sharing third base with Ezequiel Duran. Smith is batting .292/.393/.417 over 84 plate appearances, much better than his previous two MLB seasons would indicate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:59 pm
  • Elehuris Montero homers in win over Padres
Elehuris Montero connected on a two-run homer against the Padres on Thursday.

Advice: Montero blasted his first homer of the season with a two-run shot off Randy Vasquez. The 25-year-old has not been a useable fantasy option over the first month of the season, as even with the roundtripper he’s slashing an unhealthy .236/.288/.306 over 73 at-bats. • Luis Urías hits go-ahead homer as M’s top Rangers
Luis Urías hit a go-ahead two-run homer to help the Mariners to a 4-2 win over the Rangers on Thursday.

Advice: With the score tied at 2-2, Urías swatted a two-run blast off Andrew Heaney to give Seattle a 4-2 lead and ultimately the victory. It’s the second homer of the season for the 26-year-old, and he’s now posting a respectable .803 OPS. Urías should continue to get at-bats against southpaws, but Josh Rojas is going to get much more playing time at third in the strong-side of the platoon. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:59 pm
