  • Yoenis Cespedes not in Sunday's lineup
Yoenis Cespedes is not in the Mets' lineup Sunday.

Advice: It's a routine day off. The Mets also have Asdrubal Cabrera on the bench, as they're going with Michael Conforto, Curtis Granderson and Jay Bruce in the outfield, T.J. Rivera at second base and Wilmer Flores at third. Today, 7:52 am
  • Colin Moran goes on DL with facial fracture
Astros placed 3B Colin Moran on the 10-day disabled list with a facial fracture.

Advice: Moran is also dealing with a concussion after having to be carted off the field Saturday after fouling a ball off his eye. There's no timetable for his return, but it's obviously going to be a while. Today, 7:26 am
    10-Day DL
  • J.T. Riddle (shoulder) out again Sunday
J.T. Riddle (shoulder) remained out of the Marlins' lineup Sunday.

Advice: He'll miss a fourth straight start with right shoulder tendinitis. Miguel Rojas will handle shortstop. The Marlins are also giving J.T. Realmuto and Marcell Ozuna days off, as they have A.J. Ellis at catcher and Ichiro Suzuki in left field. Today, 7:15 am
  • Neil Ramirez outrighted to Triple-A
Mets sent RHP Neil Ramirez outright to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Advice: Ramirez cleared waivers after being removed from the 40-man roster and will accept an outright assignment. He's struck out well over a batter per inning with a few clubs this season but has also posted a 7.18 ERA. Today, 6:16 am
    Not Active
  • Yadier Molina (ankle) hitless in return
Yadier Molina (ankle) went 0-for-3 with a hit by pitch in his return to the lineup Saturday.

Advice: Molina was a late scratch from Friday's lineup due to right ankle discomfort, but he'll be fine. He had a chance to tie Saturday's game with a base hit with two outs in the top of the ninth inning but struck out to end it. Today, 5:41 am
  • Ariel Miranda holds his own against Yanks
Ariel Miranda allowed two earned runs, five hits and a walk with four strikeouts across 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision Saturday against the Yankees.

Advice: Miranda has made three appearances in the month of July, posting a 7.31 ERA across 16 innings with no decisions. He'll look to keep things trending in the right direction in his next scheduled outing Friday against the Mets. Today, 2:54 am
  • Rich Hill pushes aside Braves for win No. 7
Rich Hill yielded just two earned runs, six hits and two walks with eight strikeouts across 6 1/3 innings in a victory against the Braves on Saturday.

Advice: Hill said after the game that he is dealing with a respiratory ailment. It's uncertain if the illness will force him to miss his next scheduled start, but he'll have a week to rest before he is expected to take the hill against the rival Giants next Saturday. Today, 2:16 am
  • Andrelton Simmons posts his 10th homer
Andrelton Simmons finished 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Saturday's win against the Red Sox.

Advice: Simmons has raised his average seven points in the month of July, thanks mostly due to five multi-hit games, including a trio of three-hit performances. Simmons won't give you a lot of pop, but he hits for a decent average and will also swipe an occasional bag. Today, 2:05 am
  • Brock Holt continues to struggle
Brock Holt was hitless over three at-bats with a strikeout in Saturday's road loss against the Angels.

Advice: Holt continues to have difficulties at the plate, posting a .175 average overall on the season. He has just five hits across 25 at-bats (.200) in eight games since coming off the 10-day disabled list July 16 after a bout with vertigo. Today, 1:34 am
  • David Price knocked around in Anaheim
David Price allowed six runs - five earned - and seven hits with three walks and five strikeouts across five innings in a road loss Saturday against the Angels.

Advice: It was Price's first loss since June 24, and it was his first non-quality start dating back to June 18. He'll look to bounce back at home next Friday against the Royals in a battle with All-Star Jason Vargas. Price is 2-1 with a 2.67 ERA over four starts at home as opposed to 3-2 with a 4.62 ERA across seven outings on the road. Today, 1:28 am
  • German Marquez sharp in win against Pirates
German Marquez allowed two earned runs, three hits and two walks with nine strikeouts over seven innings in a win against the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Marquez had a dismal month of June, going 1-2 with a 5.48 ERA over five outings. He has picked up the pace rather nicely in July, posting three consecutive victories and quality starts. He'll look to extend that run in his next scheduled outing Friday in Washington opposite Stephen Strasburg. Yesterday, 11:52 pm
  • David Peralta cooled off by Washington
David Peralta was hitless across four at-bats with a pair of strikeouts in Saturday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: The goose egg snapped a 10-game hitting streak. He is still hitting a cool .381 (16-for-42) with six runs scored, two homers and six RBI over the past 11 outings. He'll look to start a new streak Sunday, but it won't be easy against fireballer Stephen Strasburg. Yesterday, 11:24 pm
  • Gordon goes 2-for-5 with two stolen bases Sat
Dee Gordon went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and a run scored in a win over the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: He singled leading off the game, then stole second and third bases before scoring on a Giancarlo Stanton ground-out. For the season Gordon is batting .290/.334/.348 with zero home runs, 19 RBI and 58 runs scored. His 34 stolen bases trail only Billy Hamilton and Trea Turner in the majors. Yesterday, 10:35 pm
  • Stephenson lets in five runs in 5 1/3 on Sat.
Robert Stephenson coughed up five runs in 5 1/3 innings and was charged with a loss to the Marlins in his first start of the season on Saturday.

Advice: He might have been OK if he hadn't had to face J.T. Realmuto in the ballgame. The Marlins' backstop ripped Stephenson for a pair of two-run homers to single-handedly ruin his day. Stephenson allowed eight hits and two walks while notching five strikeouts. He spent time in the Reds' bullpen early in the season, fared poorly and was sent back to Triple-A to pitch in the rotation. He turned in a 3.79 ERA in 40 1/3 innings on the farm and was rewarded with a call to the majors. The rebuilding Reds will probably give him some more chances but fantasy owners should look elsewhere. He has an 8.10 ERA and 1.97 ERA with 32 strikeouts and nine home runs in 30 major-league innings this year. Yesterday, 10:08 pm
  • Moose jacks: Moustakas homers twice in win
Mike Moustakas hit a pair of solo home runs, two of four Royals homers on the night, in a 7-2 win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Moustakas did his work against the Sox bullpen, victimizing David Holmberg and Brad Goldberg for the solo blasts in the sixth and eighth innings, respectively. Don't look now, but the 28-year-old is second in the American League with his 28 homers, and his 62 RBI also rank among the league's best. That's very good news for the impending free agent, who is setting himself up to get paid handsomely this winter. Yesterday, 9:56 pm
  • Perez, Moustakas go back-to-back Saturday
Salvador Perez hit a two-run home run in a win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Perez took Sox reliever David Holmberg deep in the sixth inning, the first of three homers -- also the front end of back-to-back jacks from Perez and Mike Moustakas -- in the inning. The homer was the 19th of the year for Perez, who has a very modest six-game hitting streak going. On the year, the 27-year-old is batting a healthy .284/.314/.523 in 88 games. Yesterday, 9:46 pm
  • Bruce hits two-run homer in win over A's
Jay Bruce hit a two-run home run in Saturday's win over the Athletics.

Advice: Bruce did his damage against a fellow southpaw, taking A's starter Sean Manaea out for the two-run bomb in the sixth inning. The dinger was his 25th home run of the year. With 10 days until the trading deadline, the 30-year-old will surely remain in the news as a possible trade target for a contending club. Bruce is hitting .263/.327/.528 on the year. Yesterday, 9:10 pm
  • Chris Heisey exits with groin injury Saturday
Chris Heisey left Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks with a groin injury.

Advice: He went 1-for-4 with a triple and a walk before being replaced in left field by Ryan Raburn in the ninth inning. With Heisey banged up and Raburn going on bereavement leave after tonight's game, the short-handed Nats may have to make a roster move. The Nats were expected to call up catcher Pedro Severino to replace Raburn but perhaps they'll look to add an outfielder now. Yesterday, 9:08 pm
  • Gibson yields three runs in 7 1/3 vs Tigers
Kyle Gibson took home a win over the Tigers by allowing three runs in 7 1/3 innings on Saturday.

Advice: He hurled seven shutout innings before faltering in the eighth. He allowed one run in that frame and left two runners on when he was relieved of duty. Both of those runners came home when reliever Taylor Rogers served up a home run to Justin Upton. It was a badly-need strong outing for Gibson, who improves to 6-8 with an unpleasant 6.08 ERA and frightful 1.71 WHIP. Yesterday, 9:08 pm
  • Presley goes 3-for-5 with a run and RBI Sat.
Alex Presley went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored against the Twins on Saturday.

Advice: He smoked a ground-rule double that plated a run in the eighth inning, then rode home on a Justin Upton longball. The veteran part-time outfielder has made the most of his limited opportunities this year. He has a .329 batting average with one homer and 10 RBI in 93 plate appearances. Yesterday, 9:01 pm
