  • Manuel Margot activated from disabled list
Padres activated OF Manuel Margot from the 10-day disabled list.

Advice: Margot has been sidelined for a little over a month with a strained calf. He went just 3-for-20 (.150) during his rehab assignment, but the rookie outfielder feels healthy and that's really all the Padres care about. Today, 1:04 pm
  • Conforto (hand) out of Tuesday's liineup
Michael Conforto (hand) is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Marlins.

Advice: X-rays came back negative after Conforto was hit in the left wrist/hand by a pitch on Sunday, but he needs some more time before returning to the lineup. Conforto hasn't tried swinging a bat yet, but manager Terry Collins thinks he'll be available off the bench. The Mets will go with Yoenis Cespedes, Curtis Granderson, and Jay Bruce across their outfield on Tuesday. Today, 12:45 pm
  • Brantley back in Tuesday's lineup
Michael Brantley is in Tuesday's lineup against the Rangers.

Advice: Brantley was activated from the disabled list on Monday, but the Indians held him out of the starting lineup. The 30-year-old started the season hot, but he has zero homers and a .716 OPS over 34 games dating back to the start of May. Today, 12:40 pm
  • Blue Jays option OF Smith to Triple-A
Blue Jays optioned OF Dwight Smith Jr. to Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: He'll head back to the minors now that Ezequiel Carrera has returned from the disabled list. Smith has batted .370 (10-for-27) with a pair of doubles during his time in the majors this season. He should get another chance soon. Today, 12:31 pm

  • Blue Jays activate Carrera from DL
Blue Jays activated OF Ezequiel Carrera from the 10-day disabled list.

Advice: Amazingly, Carrera only ended up missing a little under two weeks with his right foot fracture. He returns to a .297/.366/.412 batting line. Today, 12:27 pm
  • Brewers activate OF Braun from disabled list
Brewers activated OF Ryan Braun from the 10-day disabled list.

Advice: Braun, who has been out for a month with a calf strain, went 2-for-8 with a homer during a brief minor league rehab stint with Class A Wisconsin. The 33-year-old returns to a .262/.350/.524 batting line with seven home runs and 19 RBI over 30 games. Today, 12:18 pm
  • Brewers designate Franklin for assignment
Brewers designated INF Nick Franklin for assignment.

Advice: Franklin gets the boot with Jonathan Villar and Ryan Braun coming back from the disabled list. The 26-year-old was claimed off waivers from the Rays at the end of spring training, but he batted just .195/.258/.317 with two homers and 10 RBI through 53 games during his tenure with Milwaukee. Today, 12:15 pm

  • Indians place Jackson (quad) on 10-day DL
Indians placed OF Austin Jackson on the 10-day disabled list with a left quad strain.

Advice: Jackson suffered the injury during Sunday's game and will require an extended absence. The Indians have called up right-hander Shawn Armstrong to take his place on the active roster. Today, 12:00 pm
    10-Day DL
  • McCutchen moves into No. 3 spot Tuesday
Andrew McCutchen will move into the No. 3 spot Tuesday against the Rays.

Advice: McCutchen caught fire out of the No. 6 spot, batting .380 with eight homers and a 1.161 OPS over 28 games. Pirates manager Clint Hurdle has resisted switching things up until now, but he's finally ready for a change. Fantasy owners won't complain. Today, 11:53 am
  • Gomez not in Tuesday's lineup
Carlos Gomez is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Indians.

Advice: The hot-hitting outfielder will get a breather. Delino DeShields will make the start in center field and bat leadoff. Also of note, Rougned Odor has been dropped to seventh in the lineup. Today, 11:48 am
  • Schwarber plays first game since demotion
Kyle Schwarber went 1-for-4 with a single and three strikeouts Monday in his first game since his demotion to Triple-A Iowa.

Advice: Schwarber struck out in his first three at-bats before hitting a line-drive single off the wall in the eighth inning. The 24-year-old slugger batted just .171/.295/.378 through 64 games prior to his demotion last week. Cubs manager Joe Maddon doesn't expect him to stay down in the minors for long, but there's no clear timetable for his return. In addition to giving him a mental break, the Cubs want to work on his swing mechanics. Today, 6:03 am

  • Denard Span races around for RBI triple
Denard Span went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple and two runs scored in Monday's win over the Rockies.

Advice: Span struck for an RBI triple in the fourth inning. He is up to four triples on the season and is now hitting .282/.332/.435 with four homers, 15 RBI and 28 runs scored in 216 at-bats. The veteran outfielder has turned in multi-hit efforts in four of his last six games. Yesterday, 10:35 pm
  • Cody Bellinger proves mortal, fans thrice
Cody Bellinger went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in Monday's loss to the Angels.

Advice: Apparently it is possible to keep the hot-swinging rookie down from time-to-time. To put a number on it, Bellinger has fanned at least three times in 10 of 58 games this season, but had not done so since June 6 prior to tripping up on Monday. The budding star is working to a .271/.340/.670 triple-slash with 24 homers and 55 RBI this season. Yesterday, 10:14 pm
  • Dexter Fowler (heel) visited specialist
Dexter Fowler (heel) was scheduled to visit with a podiatrist on Monday.

Advice: The results of the visit aren't clear at the moment. Fowler was placed on the disabled list Sunday with a right heel spur that he says has bothered him "off and on forever." Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said Sunday that the injury "doesn't sound too concerning," but he added that "it does sound like it could be chronic." The Cards could offer more Tuesday as to a possible timetable for Fowler. Yesterday, 7:03 pm
    10-Day DL
  • Yasiel Puig (hamstring) back in lineup Monday
Yasiel Puig (hamstring) is back in the Dodgers' lineup Monday.

Advice: Puig sat out Sunday with a nagging hamstring issue, but it's not seen as a big deal and he's back in there a day later. He's in right field and batting seventh against Ricky Nolasco and the Angels. Yesterday, 5:40 pm
  • Jefry Marte recalled from Triple-A
Angels recalled INF/OF Jefry Marte from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Advice: Marte has batted just .175/.283/.309 in 35 games this season at the major league level. He can be ignored for fantasy purposes. Yesterday, 4:14 pm
    New Player Note
    Jefry Marte LAA - 1B,3B,OF
  • Chris Heisey (biceps) takes batting practice
Chris Heisey (biceps) took batting practice Monday.

Advice: Heisey had to be pulled off his rehab assignment earlier this month after having a setback, but he's obviously made some progress recently. The veteran outfielder is attempting to play through a ruptured biceps tendon. Yesterday, 2:24 pm
    10-Day DL
  • Mazara (forearm) back in lineup Monday
Nomar Mazara (forearm) has returned to the Rangers' starting lineup Monday versus the Indians.

Advice: Mazara sat out Saturday and Sunday with a bruised right forearm from being hit by a pitch from Aroldis Chapman, but fortunately it's not a long-term issue. He'll bat third in his return. Yesterday, 12:44 pm
