  • Exits with apparent injury
Urshela was removed from Friday's game against the Twins with an apparent injury, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Urshela appeared to be limping toward the dugout after grounding out in the second inning, and he was replaced at third base by Matt Vierling once the Tigers took the field. The team will take a closer look at Urshela and should offer more information regarding what exactly is bothering him relatively soon. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago
  • Dansby Swanson leads Cubs past Marlins on Friday
Dansby Swanson singled, doubled, scored twice, drove in a run and drew a walk on Friday afternoon, helping to lead the Cubs to an 8-3 victory over the visiting Marlins.

Advice: The 30-year-old shortstop delivered a two-out, run-scoring double off of A.J. Puk in the first inning that extended the Cubs’ early lead to 2-0. He then worked a walk in the third inning and scored on a two-run double by Miguel Amaya. Swanson also smacked a leadoff single to start the fifth inning and came around to score on an RBI knock off the bat of Mike Tauchman. With his two-hit day, Swanson is now slashing .254/.325/.408 to go along with two homers, eight RBI and a pair of stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago
  • Nico Hoerner collects two hits in win over Marlins
Nico Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI as the Cubs triumphed over the Marlins on Friday afternoon.

Advice: Hoerner led off the home half of the first inning with a double off of A.J. Puk and scored the game’s first run on an RBI single off the bat of Cody Bellinger. He then plated a run of his own with a two-out RBI double off of Puk in the second inning. With his two-hit attack, Hoerner is now hitting .258/.382/.355 on the season, though he has still yet to hit a hom run or steal a base. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago
  • Out of lineup Friday
Baez is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Twins, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: Baez finally found some success at the plate recently with an .871 OPS across the past five games, but he'll head to the bench for Friday's series opener at Minnesota. Zach McKinstry will step in at shortstop and bat seventh. Rotowire.com Today, 2:33 pm
  • Recalled from Triple-A
Monasterio was recalled from Triple-A Nashville by the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Monasterio was hitless in seven at-bats earlier this season with the Brewers and went 5-for-12 during his time at Nashville. He will provide Milwaukee with infield depth. Rotowire.com Today, 1:39 pm
  • Not in Friday's lineup
Martin is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Martin is in the midst of a modest five-game hit streak but will head to the bench for Friday's contest. Trevor Larnach will take over in left field and bat cleanup in the series opener versus Detroit. Rotowire.com Today, 1:31 pm
  • Hit in loss
Lopez went 1-for-2 in a 2-1 win over Kansas City on Wednesday.

Advice: It's been a difficult start to the season for the 29-year-old, as Lopez's slash line sits at .167/.255/.167. While he does have two hits over the last five games, the infielder has yet to tally an extra-base hit and he's been a liability on the base paths during the rare occasion that he's gotten on base, having been thrown out four times this season. The six-year veteran signed a one-year, $4.3 million contract with the White Sox this offseason, but given the team's dreary record, it wouldn't be surprising to see Lopez get ample opportunities to find his way out of this rut. • RBI in loss
Farmer went 1-for-3 with an RBI in the 4-2 loss to the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: Farmer has played in six games since Carlos Correa injured his oblique bouncing between third and shortstop over the past week. While the Twins have said the All-Star's injury is relatively minor, his return status remains unclear, which should open up opportunities for Farmer to get more at-bats. A lifetime .252 hitter, there's bound to be a bit of positive regression to the mean with the veteran averaging .097 across 38 at-bats this season. Rotowire.com Today, 1:08 pm
  • One walk, one run in win
Short went 0-for-3 with one run and one walk in the 9-1 win over the Pirates on Wednesday.

Advice: With Brett Baty out due to a hamstring injury, Short got just his second start since April. The utility infielder likely will have a spot carved out on the roster due to his versatility, and he's at least not a minus runner in the event he's able to get on base. Don't expect the 28-year-old to see much more than a spot start on occasion unless multiple members of the infield pick up injuries. Rotowire.com Today, 1:07 pm
