Looks like my power is back for good. The grid got torn up pretty bad here yesterday, so I was out of power for 8 hours. Didn't bother me much at all, though, since my neighbor with a fancy grill had a dinner party......

By the way, there are some players who I didn't mention in the previous commish note who may qualify for the minor league system. If guys like Mike Trout, or Mike Minor, or Rubby De La Rosa, and others (you get the idea here) get sent back to the minors, they will probably be eligible for your minor league roster. If you had a minor league roster now, I'd probably let you send them down if you wanted to, but right now, with the exception of the guys listed in the previous note, anyone who's not an NA is fair game for anyone to pick up.

It looks like we got the right guy to take over Durham Bulls/Fear the Beard. He's done something similar to the off-season trading system and minor league system that I've been trying to devise and he has a system that he likes and it looks like it works well.

Right now, the leading idea in my mind for offseason trading and the minor league system is to create a blogspot site and just use it to keep track of who's on who's team and to make trades public. I'm going to explore this and will get you an update on what it looks like we're going to do as soon as I have more information.

Just wanted to let you know that the reason I moved the trade deadline is because I didn't like the scheduled maintenance being the day after it.

Also, Durham Bulls appears to be abandoned (owner was unresponsive to e-mail), so I'm going to be on the lookout for a new manager. I'm planning on getting someone new in there by next week at the latest.

So, Up Yours Saddam!!! has not replied to my e-mail about inactivity (His lineup hasn't changed since April 20th). I'm going to head over to the message boards and try to get a new manager tonight. Trading will be frozen right before the new manager is instated, and will probably resume tomorrow sometime between noon and 3 P.M., though there is a chance that it could be a bit later.

I love playing baseball. Real and fake. But don't you hate it when opposite field solo home run you hit at the neighbors to put your team up 1-0 gets in the way of managing you fantasy team?

Anyway, just wanted to re-post the activity guidelines for the commissioner's note.

Activity: Please stay active with your team. If you intend on being away for more than a week, let me know so I don't think you dropped off the face of the earth. If you want, I can even make changes to your lineup for short periods of time.

Trade Offers: Please respond to them as soon as possible, preferably in 3 days or fewer.

That said, lets play some fake baseball!

A little change in plan regarding the temporary trading ban. I'm going to lift it now so that we can continue to make offers, but please don't accept any offers until tomorrow. Thanks, Jared

Joe from Vegas has abandoned his team and failed to respond to e-mails I sent him, so we will be having a new manager for that team. If he accepts the invite to manage the team tonight, trading will probably re-open sometime tomorrow evening, and if he accepts it tomorrow morning, it'll probably be the next morning after that. He sounds excited to be coming on board and is looking forward to the challenge of rebuilding that team.

It looks like we're back to a fairly stable and peaceful situation here. I would like to thank all of you for working with me and dealing with my inexperience as a commish. This is only my second league, and first with commish review, so I didn't really know proper procedure for using it.

We are going to resume trading at about 3 or 4 this afternoon, so get those offers ready!!

Ok, I'm going to void it. This is so out of control it is insane. However, I would greatly appreciate it if you would all look at this thread on the message boards regarding this trade:

At this time, I will be temporarily remove the ability to trade, as I want to hear more about why there should be restrictions on trades. THIS IS TEMPORARY AND IT WILL BE LIFTED WITHIN A DAY OR TWO.

This trade situation is really getting out of control. I know a well respected commissioner who has offered to come in for a few days and clean up this mess. I feel that having him fix this may be better for all, since I feel kind of awkward about dealing with this since it is my own trade which has been called into question.

Here's what I can tell you about him: He stands for what is fair. I have been in leagues where he is the commish in the past, and he does his job well. He blocks unfair trades, and replaces inactive managers quickly.

If the league would be interested in this, I would be very happy to have him come in and clean this up for us. However, I would like to ask that by voting to have him come in and clean this up, you also agree to a few conditions:

Whatever he chooses to do is the final solution to this problem. I would ask that this issue not be brought up again after it is resolved.

Remember, he has been doing this for far longer than I have, and has been the commish of 12 leagues. He knows what he is doing.

Also, you have to remember that what is being disputed here is not the players in the deal. And by switching to no protests, we know that this issue won't happen again. If the other commish comes in, I would also ask that you respect his decision, and move on from this incident, and continue to manage your team. If he comes in, the goal is to get back to the pre-trade atmosphere with this. If you'd like to do this, let me know.

Ok, now that we're all here and ready to go, let's go over a few things.

Activity: Please stay active with your team. If you intend on being away for more than a week, let me know so I don't think you dropped off the face of the earth. If you want, I can even make changes to your lineup.
