  • Welcome back. It looks like we will have one new team this year. Tarcio is joining the league and taking over for Kevin. Kevin was always a solid owner until last year. That was kind of a debacle. But he is out now, so on to 2019.
    We have refined the rules over many years, so there are no major changes this year. If people would like to make any changes, we need to get these ideas out soon and vote before the draft.
    Important things to remember: We are going head to head for 21 weeks. The playoffs will last 3 weeks. Weeks 22-24. We will separate into 2 divisions, and the two division winners get the top two seeds in the playoffs. The next six best records will make it after that.
    The league fee is $150, and should be paid to me before the draft. I would prefer that everyone pay by venmo or paypal. That is the easiest way. Also, every free agent pick up costs $1, with a cap of three adds per week.
    We do have 2 penalty fees, that we call inept owner fees. You pay $20 if you miss the innings minimum. That minimum is currently 30 innings. We may want to talk about lowering that to 25 considering the way things have been going with starting pitchers in the past few seasons. Twice last season people have been subjected to that fee who did try to actively manage their teams, but missed due to circumstances outside of their control (weather mostly).
    The other fee is imposed if you miss 100 plate appearances for your hitters. Yahoo does not track this. Its nearly impossible to do this unless you are leaving roster spots open or playing a lot of injured players.

    Payouts for 2019
    Division winners get $150 each
    3rd place gets $300
    2nd place gets $600
    1st place gets $1200 plus all free agent money (total prize usually approaches $2000)
