Here the basic things that people need to know throughout the year.
At the draft we will determine the draft order. The draft order decides the divisions as well. Odd teams will make up one division, and even teams will make up the other division. The schedule should work out where you play everyone in your division two times, and the other division once.
We use minimum innings and at bats every week. The minimum at bats are 100 per week. Its easy to hit but prevents resting guys until later in the week. The minimum innings pitched is 30. Also not typically hard to reach. If you fail to reach these minimums, you lose all 6 offensive, or pitching categories for that week.
The league fee is $100, plus $1 per free agent pick up. We have a fee we call the inept owner fee. If you fail to hit the minimum innings for pitching or the minimum at bats for hitters, you will be fined $20. Don't do that.
All trades are sent to me for review and approval or veto. Its not a democracy there. I let anything through as long as I don't feel there is collusion or someone clearly not understanding things and ruining the league.
The top 8 teams make the playoffs. The two division winners are seeded 1 and 2 and the next 6 are seeded based on best record. Each round of the playoffs re-seeds so that the highest seed plays the lowest remaining seed. Tie-breaker goes to the higher seed. Baseball is a marathon, and the teams that did better in the regular season deserve some kind of advantage.
Prizes include $100 for each division winner.
