    • Casey Schmitt goes 2-for-4, homers in loss
Casey Schmitt went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Saturday in the Giants’ loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Schmitt slashed San Francisco’s early deficit in half by taking Yankees starter Cody Poteet deep to left-center field in the third inning. It was his first round-tripper of the season. He was the lone Giants’ batter to reach base more than once during Saturday’s one-sided affair at Oracle Park as Yankees starter Cody Poteet and a quartet of relievers limited them to just five hits combined. • Anthony Volpe extends on-base streak to 28 games
Anthony Volpe went 1-for-4 with a double on Saturday in the Yankees’ win over the Giants.

Advice: Volpe’s 21-game hitting streak came to an end during Thursday’s series finale against the Angels when he went 0-for-5, but he’s reached base safely in 28 consecutive contests since May 2, which puts him in a tie with teammate Aaron Judge for the longest active streak in the game. The 23-year-old is excelling at the dish in the wake of last offseason’s offensive overhaul to his swing and approach. His .351 on-base percentage will certainly work atop New York’s lineup moving forward. Rotoworld 4 minutes ago
    • Cody Poteet collects win Saturday against Giants
Cody Poteet was charged with three runs (two earned) on Saturday in a win over the Giants.

Advice: Poteet struck out six and only issued one walk. He gave up only three hits as a two-run homer by Casey Schmitt and a run-scoring single from Brett Wisely accounted for all of the damage against him. The 29-year-old righty has pitched well in a pair of spot starts for New York and figures to remain in the big leagues for the next few weeks until Gerrit Cole (elbow) is ready to make his season debut. Despite his encouraging early results, he’s not a recommended fantasy option when he faces the Dodgers’ star-studded lineup on Friday in his next outing. Rotoworld 5 minutes ago
    • Logan Webb strikes out six in loss to Yankees
Logan Webb gave up four runs over seven innings on Saturday in a loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Webb fell behind right away in this one when he served up a colossal two-run homer to Aaron Judge in the opening frame. He was tagged for a pair of additional runs in the third inning, but managed to escape further damage, and wound up still completing seven frames to spare San Francisco’s bullpen. He struck out six and only handed out one free pass. The 27-year-old workhorse will carry a strong 2.95 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 67/20 K/BB ratio across 79 1/3 innings (13 starts) into a challenging road matchup on Friday against the Rangers. • Picks up pair of thefts in win
Crow-Armstrong went 1-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases Saturday in a 7-5 win against the Reds.

Advice: Crow-Armstrong made the most of his two trips on the basepaths by swiping a bag in each instance. This was his third game since being recalled from the minors Thursday. While Crow-Armstrong has posted a modest .250/.310/.359 slash line with just one homer over 26 contests in the majors this year, he's shown off his speed with seven steals in seven attempts. • Contributes grand slam in victory
Suzuki went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a triple in Saturday's 7-5 win against Cincinnati.

Advice: The Cubs fell behind by four runs early but tied the game with one stroke of the bat on Suzuki's second-inning grand slam. It was his first career grand slam and sixth homer of the campaign. Suzuki has hit safely in nine straight games and is batting .324 (12-for-37) with two homers, seven RBI and a stolen base during that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:26 pm
    • Falls to Dodgers
Quantrill (4-4) allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out one over 4.1 innings, taking the loss Saturday versus the Dodgers.

Advice: Quantrill had logged five straight quality starts, but this was always going to be a tough matchup, even away from Coors Field. The Dodgers got to him for two runs in the second inning and never looked back. Quantrill has still put together a respectable first season with the Rockies, posting a 3.84 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 50:25 K:BB over 68 innings across 12 starts. His 3.3 BB/9 is still a holdover concern from last year, and he'll never be one to strike out a lot of batters, but he's generally been reliable. Quantrill's next start is projected to be at St. Louis. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:26 pm
    • Records steal in win
Ohtani went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Ohtani had gone seven games without a steal, and he hit just .167 (5-for-30) over that span. That's a rare cold spell for one of baseball's best players, who continues to do it all out of the No. 2 hole for the Dodgers. He's at a .326/.395/.604 slash line with 14 home runs, 14 steals, 38 RBI and 41 runs scored over 57 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:18 pm
