Ober (8-4) picked up the win Thursday against Detroit, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: All three runs scored by the Tigers came with two outs in the second inning after strike three to Zach McKinstry got past Ryan Jeffers and allowed McKinstry to reach first and extend the inning. Still, Ober managed to generate a fourth straight quality start and outing with at least eight Ks. Through 94.0 innings, Ober owns a 4.12 ERA and a 100:23 K:BB. He's tentatively scheduled to face the White Sox in Chicago next time out. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:12 pm

    • Converts 16th save
Doval allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Thursday's 4-2 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Doval has converted his first two save chances in July after a tumultuous June. He's allowed one run over his last seven innings, converting four of his five save chances in that span. Overall, he's 16-for-19 in saves with a 4.15 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 46:22 K:BB through 34.2 innings, though his status as the Giants' closer hasn't been threatened. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:07 pm
    • Doval picks up 16th save against Braves Thursday
Camilo Doval tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Braves on Thursday.

Advice: The save was his 16th of the season. Doval recorded two strikeouts and allowed one hit in the ninth inning. He has a 4.15 ERA on the season, but continues to be a reliable source of saves for fantasy managers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:00 pm
    • Roughed up in loss
Sanchez (6-4) suffered the loss Thursday, allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks over four innings against the Cubs. He struck out three.

Advice: Sanchez' outing began in a familiar manner, allowing no runs through the first three innings while being staked with an early 2-0 lead. But Sanchez, who has done a great job this year at avoiding the big inning, couldn't escape that trap Thursday, allowing six batters to reach base during a five-run fourth, then saw his day end prematurely after the first two batters reached base in the fifth. All told, Sanchez, who was coming off a complete game shutout and had allowed just one earned run over 23 innings during his previous three starts, allowed a season-high seven runs, lifting his season ERA more than half a run from 2.41 to 2.96. He'll look to rebound next week when the Phillies host a showdown series against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:49 pm
    • Yandy Díaz gets rare day off Thursday vs. Royals
Yandy Díaz is not in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: It appears to be a routine off day for Díaz, who is rarely out of Tampa Bay’s lineup. It’ll be Isaac Paredes moving over to cover first base in his absence on the Fourth of July in Kansas City. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:31 pm

    • Idle Thursday
Diaz isn't in the Rays' lineup Thursday versus the Royals.

Advice: Diaz is getting a day off Thursday after going 1-for-9 in the first two games of the series versus the Royals. This is his first absence from the lineup since May 25. Isaac Paredes will shift over from third to first base, and Jose Caballero will enter the lineup at third in the ninth spot. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:27 pm

    • Wyatt Langford puts on a show in losing effort
Wyatt Langford delivered an RBI single on Thursday in the Rangers’ loss to the Padres.

Advice: Langford made a pair of unbelievable highlight-reel worthy defensive plays and was responsible for plating the Rangers’ lone run of the contest with a run-scoring single off Padres starter Michael King in the sixth inning. The 22-year-old top prospect has been excellent over the last few weeks, batting .303 (33-for-109) with three homers and six steals over his last 30 games. He’s yet another textbook example of why fantasy managers should exercise patience with talented top prospects, even if they struggle initially upon reaching the majors. • Cristopher Sánchez has rare off day versus Cubs
Cristopher Sánchez surrendered seven runs in four-plus innings versus the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: After three scoreless innings, Sánchez gave up a walk, a 109-mph single and a 112-mph homer to Ian Happ to start the fourth. That wasn’t the end of the damage, though. The Cubs rallied for two more runs in that frame after another walk, and then had two more soft hits to begin the fifth, resulting in his Sánchez’s removal. Both runners later came around to score off Seranthony Domínguez. Sánchez was working on a 19-inning scoreless streak until the fourth today. He gave up as many earned runs today as in his previous seven starts combined, and his ERA jumped from 2.41 to 2.96. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:58 pm
    • Bailey Ober strikes out eight in win over Tigers
Bailey Ober worked six innings and allowed three runs — one earned — in a victory over the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: Ober struck out eight and walked none. He has a 27/3 K/BB ratio in his last three starts and a 100/23 K/BB ratio in 94 innings for the year. The 4.12 ERA still isn’t great, but everything else is exactly what one would expect from him. He’ll face the White Sox next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:31 pm
