    • Taylor Ward (knee) expects to play Tuesday
Taylor Ward, out Monday after banging his knee during Sunday’s game, said he’ll likely be back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game.

Advice: Kevin Pillar is playing left field tonight against the Rangers. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

    • Expected back in action Tuesday
Ward (knee) is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Rangers, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Ward banged up his knee when he crashed into the outfield wall at Wrigley Field during Sunday's loss to the Cubs. He is feeling much better Monday and fully expects to return to the lineup Tuesday. Kevin Pillar will occupy left field Monday in Ward's stead. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago

    • Keeps running Sunday
Chisholm went 0-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the White Sox.

Advice: It's the third steal in the last four games for Chisholm, who's up to 17 stolen bases on the season -- his career high is 23, set back in 2021. The 26-year-old is finding ways to contribute, but he hasn't homered in 21 straight games, a stretch in which Chisholm is slashing .260/.345/.301 with just two extra-base hits, a double and a triple. • Report: Angels unlikely to trade Taylor Ward
According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, “the Angles likely will hang onto” Taylor Ward and starters Tyler Anderson and Griffin Canning at the trade deadline.

Advice: All three players are still under team control through at least 2025 and are likely to remain with the Angels “unless they receive overwhelming offers.” Anderson and Canning staying put will keep their spots in a starting rotation secure but also keep their chances of wins low, while Ward staying in Los Angeles will also help guarantee everyday playing time but continue to see him hit in a weak lineup. • Report: “Growing belief” Marlins will trade Jazz
According to the Miami Herald’s Craig Mish, “there is a growing belief [Jazz] Chisholm Jr. will be traded.”

Advice: Chisholm is in the midst of his healthiest season yet, playing 87 games so far while hitting .255/.326/.407 with 10 home runs and 17 steals. According to Mish, “This is the first time there has been genuine interest in Chisholm as injuries, and his personality have kept other clubs wondering what they would be getting in return.” The Marlins now seem primed to take advantage of that spark of interest by dealing the oft-injured 26-year-old for potential future pieces. While Chisholm does have some risk, his power/speed should net the Marlins a decent return and could be an impactful piece for a contender at the deadline. Rotoworld Today, 8:15 am

    • Keeps raking
Witt went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 10-1 win over Colorado.

Advice: Witt clubbed his 15th home run of the season, taking Ty Blach yard for a three-run homer in the ninth inning. The 24-year-old shortstop was named an AL All-Star reserve and has shown exactly why he's deserving of the honor lately, batting 12-for-23 with three homers and nine runs scored across his last seven games Rotowire.com Today, 12:44 am
    • Dazzles for 10th win
Skubal (10-3) allowed one run on three hits over seven innings to earn the win Sunday against the Reds. He struck out 13.

Advice: Skubal was dominant once again Sunday as he recorded a new season high in strikeouts and allowed one run or fewer for the 10th time in 18 starts. The lefty now has a stellar 2.37 ERA and 132 strikeouts across 110 innings this year, which earned him his first All-Star selection on Sunday as well. Skubal has been an excellent fantasy asset, and he's set up to make one more start before the All-Star break, likely on Friday against the Dodgers. It's a tough matchup, but the Detroit ace should remain locked into lineups the rest of the way. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:42 pm
    • Remains in rotation
Baz is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Yankees at Tropicana Field.

Advice: Baz will make a second straight turn through the Tampa Bay rotation as he continues to fill the spot that belonged to Aaron Civale, who was traded to the Brewers last week. After being called up from Triple-A Durham on Friday to make his first start for the Rays since July 10, 2022, Baz struck out six while allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings in a loss to the Rangers. Though he maintains a hold on a rotation spot for now, Baz could still be at some risk of losing out on a starting role once Jeffrey Springs (elbow) eventually returns from the 60-day injured list. • Bobby Witt Jr. headlines A.L. All-Star reserves
Bobby Witt Jr. was named to his first American League All-Star team on Sunday.

Advice: It’s the first of what should be many All-Star nominations for the 24-year-old superstar shortstop. Witt has been outstanding this season, slashing .324/.372/.564 with 15 homers, 61 RBI, 72 runs scored and 22 stolen bases. He’ll be joined on the American League squad by fellow reserves Salvador Perez, Carlos Correa, Rafael Devers, Marcus Semien, Kyle Tucker, Josh Naylor, Isaac Paredes, Jarren Duran, Riley Greene and David Fry.
