    • Provides lone run in loss
Nootbaar went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 7-1 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Nootbaar has homered in each of the last two games, but he's batting just .184 (7-for-38) with five extra-base hits over his last 10 contests. The outfielder is up to three homers through 24 contests on the year, with the recent increase in power helping to make up for an overall lack of success at the plate. He's slashing .184/.290/.356 with nine RBI, eight runs scored, six doubles and two stolen bases through 101 plate appearances. Nootbaar continues to split time between left field and right field depending on where Brendan Donovan plays. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago
    • Picks up second win
Wacha (2-4) picked up the win over the Angels on Thursday, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and five walks over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Wacha produced three 1-2-3 innings and mostly avoided trouble up until the seventh when he allowed three runs to come across for the Angels. The right-hander issued a season-high five walks on the night, with the latter two sending runs home for Los Angeles. However, Wacha was still able to get through six innings for the first time in his last four starts while recording his first win since April 6 against the White Sox. He now carries an 8.38 ERA in May (two starts), posting a 9:6 K:BB over that stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 6:09 am
    • Michael Wacha turns in quality start in victory
Michael Wacha picked up a win Thursday after allowing three runs — two earned — in six innings against the Angels.

Advice: Wacha boasted some of his best velocity of the season tonight, helping him achieve the quality start in spite of five walks surrendered. He improved to 2-4 with a 5.15 ERA ahead of his next start on the road against the Mariners. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:45 pm
    • Lars Nootbaar homers in second straight contest
Lars Nootbaar drilled a solo homer on Thursday in the Cardinals’ loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Nootbaar went deep for the second straight contest during Thursday’s one-sided affair at American Family Field, taking Brewers starter Tobias Myers out to center field in the third inning for his third long ball of the season. The 26-year-old corner outfielder is batting just .186 (16-for-87) through 24 contests since returning from the injured list. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:24 pm
    • Tagged for eight runs
Gilbert (3-1) took the loss Thursday against the Twins, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Five of Minnesota's runs came in the first inning, including three on a Manuel Margot double. Gilbert hadn't allowed more than two earned runs in his previous five starts, recording quality starts in six of his previous seven outings. His ERA went from 1.69 to 2.94 after Thursday with a 0.94 WHIP and 54:15 K:BB across 52 innings. Gilbert will look to get back on track in his next turn in the rotation, currently scheduled for next week against Kansas City. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:42 pm
    • Bryan Woo set to return on Friday against A’s
Bryan Woo (elbow) will start on Friday against the Athletics.

Advice: Woo will make his return to Seattle’s starting rotation after missing the opening six weeks of the regular season recovering from right elbow inflammation. The 24-year-old righty was sharp in his latest rehab start for Triple-A Tacoma with six strikeouts over five scoreless frames and shouldn’t have any workload restrictions in his season debut. It’s an extremely tasty matchup, which makes Woo a viable option for fantasy managers in all formats right out of the gate. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:33 pm

    • Starting Friday
Woo (elbow) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Friday's game against the Athletics, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Advice: Woo has been on the injured list all year due to right elbow inflammation, but he has now been given the green light to make his season debut with the Mariners. The 24-year-old righty did not give up a run through 11.1 innings during his three rehab starts at Triple-A Tacoma, and he managed to strikeout 17 batters while walking none. Emerson Hancock is expected to be optioned to Tacoma once Woo is activated. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:09 pm

    • Logan Gilbert allows eight over four against Twins
Logan Gilbert was shelled for eight runs in four innings while picking up a loss to the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: Gilbert allowed nine hits with two walks while adding for strikeouts. To say the right-hander was a disappointment was an understatement, as he entered this outing with a sensational 1.69 ERA over 48 innings. That ERA immediately took a hit with five runs allowed in the first, and three more crossed the plate before ending his 91-pitch day. The Twins are on fire and Gilbert was due for a poor outing, but this is still not one fantasy managers could have seen coming. He’ll be back on the bump against the Royals on Tuesday. • Guardians transfer Gavin Williams to 60-day IL
Guardians transferred RHP Gavin Williams to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Nothing has changed with Williams from a return timetable standpoint as the procedural move merely clears up a spot on Cleveland’s 40-man roster for newly-acquired reliever Darren McCaughan. The 24-year-old righty has been on the shelf since spring training due to right elbow inflammation, but was able to resume a throwing program last week following a brief setback. There’s a chance he’s ready to return at some point next month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:53 am
