    • Surrenders seven in no-decision
Miller did not factor into the decision in Friday's 10-9 loss to Kansas City, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out one.

Advice: Miller posted his worst start of the season, allowing nine baserunners and seven runs, each marking season worsts. The Seattle right-hander was cruising through three scoreless innings before allowing four runs in the fourth, rounded out with a three-run blast by MJ Melendez. The outing pushed Miller's WHIP north of one, as it now stands at 1.02 to go with a 3.81 ERA over 75.2 innings. The 25-year-old looks to bounce back in his next scheduled start against the White Sox at home. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:41 pm
    • Framber Valdez turns in complete game in 7-1 win
Framber Valdez went the distance against the Angels tonight, striking out eight in the Astros’ 7-1 victory.

Advice: This was the same team he gave up eight runs to on May 20. Valdez pitched a four-hitter in his seventh career complete game and first of 2024. He’s now 5-3 with a 3.53 ERA, and he’ll have a chance to keep it going against the Giants on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:06 pm
    • Goes distance in win
Valdez tossed a complete game to earn the win Friday over the Angels, allowing one run on four hits and a walk while striking out eight over nine innings.

Advice: The Astros' bullpen was fairly fresh, but Valdez took care of business himself in his seventh career complete game. The lone mistake on his line was a Kevin Pillar solo home run in the second inning. Valdez has quality starts in four of his last five outings, and his strong performance Friday lowered his ERA to 3.53 with a 1.15 WHIP and 50:18 K:BB over 63.2 innings through 10 starts this season. The southpaw is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Giants. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:44 pm
    • Bryce Miller struggles over five in no-decision
Bryce Miller gave up seven runs in five innings but didn’t factor in the decision against the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Miller was handed an 8-0 lead, but he nearly gave it all back himself. The right-hander walked three while allowing eight hits — including a three-run homer to MJ Melendez — and he struck out just one in his worst start of the season. Miller has mostly looked the part, but this one sees his ERA jump up to 3.81. There are still things hear to figure out before he’s an elite fantasy option. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:08 pm
    • Bednar picks up 13th save Friday
David Bednar tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Twins on Friday.

Advice: The save was Bednar’s 13th of the season. He blew three of his first four save opportunities this season, but since then he’s converted on 12 consecutive save chances. After a rough beginning to the season, he looks like one of the more reliable closers in the league. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:10 pm
    • Resting versus lefty
Varsho isn't in the Blue Jays' lineup Friday against the Athletics.

Advice: Left-hander Hogan Harris will start on the bump for Oakland, so the lefty-hitting Varsho will watch the beginning of Friday's game from the dugout. Davis Schneider will fill the opening in left field, moving Isiah Kiner-Falefa to second base while Ernie Clement starts at the hot corner. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:58 pm
    • Getting day off
Kwan is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Miami.

Advice: The Guardians have now mixed in two off days for Kwan in the outfielder's first week back from the injured list as they ease him into things. David Fry will be the left fielder Friday and Tyler Freeman will be elevated to the leadoff spot. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:11 pm

    • Doubles home go-ahead run
Friedl went 1-for-4 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Cubs.

Advice: In a back-and-forth affair, Friedl produced the go-ahead run in the sixth inning with a two-out double off lefty reliever Luke Little. The double extended Friedl's hit streak to five games, during which he's 6-for-19 with three extra-base hits, seven RBI and six runs scored. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:33 am
    • Belts fourth homer
Thomas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to Atlanta on Thursday.

Advice: The Nationals' only two runs in the contest came on back-to-back homers by CJ Abrams and Thomas in the sixth inning. The long ball was Thomas' first extra-base hit of any kind since May 29, and he batted just .185 (5-for-27) over that seven-game stretch. Since returning May 27 from a lengthy stay on the injured list, Thomas is batting .250 with two homers, six RBI, six runs and four stolen bases over 11 contests. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:42 pm
