      Singer (3-2) took the loss against Seattle on Monday, allowing four runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out six batters over five innings.

      Advice: Singer came into Monday having allowed exactly one run in three straight starts, but he couldn't keep that momentum going. The right-hander yielded four runs across the second and third frames, marking just the second time this season he's given up that many runs over an entire game.       Arenado went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 10-5 victory versus the Angels.

      Advice: The Cardinals were shut out over six innings before Arenado ignited an eight-run seventh with an inning-opening solo shot to left field. The long ball was just his third of the season and marked only his second extra-base hit over his past seven games.       Nolan Arenado hit a solo homer Monday in a victory over the Angels.

      Advice: The Cardinals trailed 4-0 entering the seventh inning. Arenado got St. Louis on the board with a solo shot in that frame. Nine more runs would score for the Cardinals.       Brady Singer was charged for four runs over five innings while picking up a loss Monday to the Mariners.

      Advice: Singer was in constant trouble Monday, as he allowed nine hits with one walk against six strikeouts. He gave up a long homer to Luke Raley in the second, and two more runs were surrendered by the right-hander in the third. Singer has been solid for the overwhelming majority of 2024, but this wasn’t his night. A good chance to rebound comes Sunday against the Athletics, assuming the rotation order doesn’t change.       Marcus Semien went 1-for-4 with a double as the Rangers were shutout in the loss to the Guardians on Monday.

      Advice: It was a quiet night for the Rangers offense. While it was ruled a double, Semien’s hit was definitely misplayed by Guardians outfielder Estevan Florial.       William Contreras went 3-for-5 with a run scored in the Brewers’ loss to the Pirates on Monday.



      Advice: All three of Contreras’ hits were singles. He continues to hit as his average is up to .354 on the season. Contreras’ .426 BABIP this season is high even for him, a career .348 BABIP hitter.     • Reynaldo López (back) likely to make next start
      Reynaldo López tossed five scoreless innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Cubs.

      Advice: López certainly would’ve gone deeper into the contest, but he was lifted for precautionary reasons following just 71 pitches (50 strikes) after his back tightened up on him. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern with Braves manager Brian Snitker telling reporters afterwards that he doesn’t expect him to miss his next start. The 30-year-old righty will bring a stellar 1.34 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 40/16 K/BB ratio across 40 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Padres. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:45 pm

    • Collects first save
      Minter worked around a hit and walk allowed to pick up the save Monday against the Cubs. He pitched a shutout inning with no strikeouts.

      Advice: For the second straight night, Minter received the call for the save but was able to escape Monday unlike Sunday evening. Minter allowed Cody Bellinger to reach via an infield single and walked Christopher Morel before securing three outs to finish the game. Raisel Iglesias, who threw 48 pitches over back-to-back outings on Thursday and Friday, was likely slated for additional rest and should retain his closer role over Minter in Atlanta.       Lopez was lifted from Monday's start against the Cubs early due to back tightness, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. He didn't factor into the decision after allowing two hits and two walks while striking out four over five scoreless innings.

      Advice: Lopez was removed from the game firing 71 pitches, and he likely would've gone back out for the sixth had his back not become an issue. He'll be considered day-to-day leading up to his next outing, but the club expects him to be ready for his next start, per Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
