      Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI against the Yankees on Friday.

      Advice: Guerrero has played well of late despite trade rumors about him swirling. The homer was his seventh of June when he had just five all season entering the month.     • Marcus Stroman yanked in fifth inning
      Marcus Stroman allowed three earned runs across 4 1/3 innings on Friday against the Blue Jays. He struck out three, walked three in a no-decision.

      Advice: Stroman labored through two very long innings against the Blue Jays. He could not put them away despite not allowing much hard contact and many long-at bats drove his pitch count up. Stroman’s strikeouts have sunk this year while he’s allowing more walks showing diminished velocity overall. His 3.29 ERA may be a bit of a mirage. Rotoworld Today, 7:37 pm
       
    • Yusei Kikuchi’s night ruined by Juan Soto
      Yusei Kikuchi lasted five-plus innings on Friday against the Yankees. He allowed four earned runs, struck out seven, and walked one in a loss.

      Advice: Kikuchi was cruising to the highest degree of the word through the first five innings. He had seven punch outs, faced two batters over the minimum, and the Yankees only run came from a run-down. Then, Juan Soto clobbered a three-run home run to spoil his great night. He had great command of his fastball and this start was an encouraging step back in the right direction for him despite the costly mistake to Soto. Rotoworld Today, 7:36 pm
       
    • Carves up Pirates in victory
      Morton (5-4) earned the win Friday against Pittsburgh, throwing 6.1 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts. He allowed three hits and one walk.

      Advice: The 40-year-old looked sharp over a 104-pitch outing, generating 15 whiffs -- including seven on his curveball alone -- to collect seven punchouts. Morton wrapped a successful June, firing a 3.10 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 28:13 K:BB across 29 innings. The Atlanta right-hander is slated to face the Giants at home in his next start.     • Doubles twice, steals in win
      Young went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run scored and a stolen base in a 3-1 loss to the Rays on Friday.

      Advice: Young doubled in the third inning and again in the seventh. He then stole third and scored on an errant throw by Rays catcher Alex Jackson. Since June 21, the 24-year-old has four multi-hit efforts and nine runs scored in seven contests.     • Charlie Morton excellent against Pirates in win
      Charlie Morton held the Pirates scoreless through 6 1/3 innings on Friday in a 6-1 win. He struck out seven and walked one.

      Advice: Morton made his old team pay on Friday night as he dropped curveball after curveball on Pittsburgh’s lineup. This was also the first time Morton walked one or fewer since May 10th against the Mets (pre-Grimace) as he flashed especially good command with his sparsely thrown cutter.     • Albert Suárez scoreless over six innings in win
      Albert Suárez shut the Rangers out over six innings on Friday. He struck out two and walked none in a 2-1 win for the Orioles.

      Advice: This was Suárez’s first quality start of the season. In fact, it was the first time he completed six innings. He didn’t have great swing and miss stuff or command of his off-speed pitches, but filled up the zone with his fastball and forced the Rangers into plenty of lazy fly balls. It’s hard to get very excited about him until we see more consistent strikeout totals. He has just 21 punch outs in 25 innings this month. Rotoworld Today, 6:45 pm

    • Craig Kimbrel nails down another save
      Craig Kimbrel struck out two Rangers in a clean ninth innings to earn the save for Baltimore on Friday.

      Advice: Kimbrel has been nails of late. He’s converted 11 of his last 12 save chances and allowed just one earned run since May 10th. He’s been one of the best and most surprising closers in baseball this season. Rotoworld Today, 6:44 pm

      Colton Cowser went 1-for-4 with a solo home run on Friday against the Rangers.

      Advice: Cowser’s home run was smoked at 110 MPH and he hit fifth in this game, the highest he’s hit in Baltimore’s lineup since May 29th. His playing time was thought to be in danger with Heston Kjerstad’s promotion earlier this week.
