    • Takes first loss of season
Valdez (1-1) took the loss against Seattle on Saturday, allowing five runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out three batters over 5.1 innings.

Advice: Valdez turned in his worst start of the campaign, as the five runs and nine hits he allowed were both season-worst marks while he recorded a season-low three punchouts. The left-hander also gave up his first two homers of the year, with Cal Raleigh's two-run shot in the sixth inning resulting in the hurler getting the hook. Since being activated from the injured list April 27 following a near month-long absence due to an elbow injury, Valdez has surrendered seven runs on 14 hits across 10.1 frames over two starts. • Max Muncy blasts three homers, Dodgers rout Braves
Max Muncy launched three homers on Saturday, powering the Dodgers to an 11-2 blowout victory over the Braves.

Advice: Muncy homered in the second, seventh and eighth innings to record the first three-homer game of his career. The 33-year-old veteran slugger took Braves starter Bryce Elder deep in the early stages of the contest before homering off relievers Tyler Matzek and Jackson Stephens towards the end of the game. He finished 4-for-5 with four RBI in the one-sided affair at Dodger Stadium. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:59 pm

    • Framber Valdez hit hard in loss to Mariners
Framber Valdez coughed up five runs over 5 1/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Valdez didn’t quite have as much success in his second outing back from the injured list as the division-rival Mariners tagged him for a pair of homers, which was more than enough run support for Logan Gilbert, who tossed eight shutout innings on the other side. The 30-year-old southpaw will carry a serviceable 3.97 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 19/7 K/BB ratio across 22 2/3 innings (four starts) into a road outing on Friday against the Tigers. • Brilliant in no-decision
Jones did not factor into the decision in Saturday's win against the Rockies. He allowed one hit and no walks while striking out 10 over seven scoreless innings.

Advice: The 22-year-old right-hander bounced back from a rather modest showing his last time out, matching his career high with 10 strikeouts. Jones got 17 swings and misses on 96 pitches and touched 100 mph with his heater a couple times. While he has a losing record at 2-3, Jones is off to a historically great start to his career. He became the first pitcher in Pirates history with an outing consisting of seven shutout innings, one hit or fewer allowed, 10 strikeout and zero walks Saturday, and per MLB's Sarah Langs, Jones is the first pitcher since at least 1901 with 50-plus strikeouts and five or fewer walks in his first seven career starts. • Corbin Carroll singles in loss to Padres
Corbin Carroll went 1-for-4 with a single as the Diamondbacks were demolished by the Padres on Saturday night in San Diego.

Advice: Hitting out of the eighth spot in the Diamondbacks’ lineup, the 23-year-old outfielder singled with two outs in the fifth inning but was left stranded at first base. He struck out in each of his other two plate appearances in the ballgame. It’s been a brutal start to the season for Carroll, as he’s hitting a paltry .194/.291/.242 with one home run, five RBI and eight stolen bases through his first 32 ballgames. • Will undergo MRI on hamstring
Kwan will undergo an MRI on his injured left hamstring Sunday, Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Advice: Kwan tweaked the hamstring during Saturday's game against the Angels while making a play in the outfield. More should be known about a potential injured list stint and timetable following the exam. Kwan is off to an excellent start this season, slashing .353/.407/.496 over 32 games. • Leaves game with hamstring injury
Kwan was lifted from Saturday's game against the Angels due to left hamstring tightness, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Kwan looked to tweak his hamstring while chasing down a flyball in the top of the third inning and was removed prior to the top of the fourth. It's not clear at this point whether he might require an MRI, but the Guardians figure to offer an update on his condition after the game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:30 pm

    • Steven Kwan leaves game with hamstring tightness
Steven Kwan was removed from Saturday’s game against the Angels due to tightness in his left hamstring.

Advice: Kwan suffered the injury while running down a ball in the outfield. The severity of the injury, as well as how much time the 26-year-old outfielder may stand to miss, remain unclear. The Guardians should provide another update on his status after the game concludes. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:28 pm

    • David Bednar earns win with scoreless ninth
David Bednar tossed a scoreless inning with one strikeout to earn the win against the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: Bender entered in the top of the ninth with the game scoreless. He tossed a clean frame, striking out one batter to send it tied to the bottom of the ninth. The Pirates would walk it off, giving Bednar the win. It a positive sign for the closer after giving up runs in each of his last three outings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:31 pm
